Corpse Bug :(

Yesterday on solsar I saw no less then 3 TR people exploiting the corpse bug. I mean, I'm sure that there are plenty of NC doing it too, but for christsakes, go back to counterstrike! I tell any member of my outfit to disengage from combat if they become bugged, or even if they are told they are bugged. Remember if you want to cheat the game, in counterstrike it's easier and is pretty much an accepted part of any public server. Just a rant, dammit.


Edit: the most obnoxious offender was from echelon, any of you TR people know of them?

yup I encountered a guy today on werner called diemulla

He was a corpse in our base going around killing people, including me a few times while I was defending so I /tell to him telling him he was a corspse in case he somehow didn't know or wasn't sure on what was happening, he replied saying its a bug its ok to use it as its a BUG.

I was like wtf at this guy and told him to either recall or kill himself as he was quite clearly exploiting it. I got a nice reply saying I was a n00b or something and that I should learn to aim or some other sort of idiotic reply.

I did swear at him after he told me he was using the bug for his own purposes granted not the best thing to do but I was annoyed, anyway before getting into a flame match I told him it was clear he was exploiting and that ai was going to appeal then typed /ignore diemulla

I hate when people do this. Saw another guy doing it the other day on our team, and about 4 other randoms around the place

Well, I got my entire squad to appeal the guy as we were all in the same place, so we were at the scene of the crime you might say. I just hope the csrs jump on this guy as fast as they jumped on the NC cr5 that did jack to deserve a grief level 3 :rolleyes:

Yes. Becouse it's unavoidable.

Edit: I don't want to openly say how becouse then everybody will be doing it.

Edi2: With my style of gameplay I have to do a certain thing. That certain thing triggers the bug.

No, it's not unavoidable. He's stating an easy way to fix the bug is to deconstruct or recall. Fixes the bug no problem.

I'm not gonna kill myself or run to a tower or base in the middle of a battle. FYI, if you're run over the bug is fixed.

Lonehunter, you do realize that you know of this bug and still continuing to use it to your favor correct? I would suggest that you stop before you get banned from the game.

Corpse bug is when your dead...but you cant spawn.... (i think)

Edit: It doesn't always work but sometimes when I use it people will send me a tell, "Dude your dead, but, your moving?" Then I think "Crap"

Edit that post please, and just don't do it until they manage to fix it. It's not that hard. Especially if you consider that you could and probably would get banned if you continue to exploit.

No, I'm afraid you will be banned. The dev's are already warning people that continued exploitation of the bug will result in banning. Using the corpse bug makes you a cheapass anyway.

Do you know that button where you click "I agree" whenever you start up the game?

Basically you are agreeing to follow by their policy about the game and you are basically surrendering all rights. When you click that button you also agreed to SOE reserving the right to ban any account for any reason they see fit.

I've played EQ for 4 years(and seen/discussed lots and lots of people being banned over forums). Trust me, if they ban you, the only thing you'll get out of it if you try to sue them is a really big Lawyer's fee. ;)

Hey Thor2, good to see another IF member in these forums.

Now, on topic and better than ever. If your playstyle supports the bug, you should be very aware of what conditions trigger it and avoid those conditions like the plague. If this means dying a few more times than normal because you couldn't use your implant, then its better than having your account die at a csr's hand. Just my take on the problem.

To the best of my knowledge I've never become a corpse, but it's possible I have and not known it as I definitely use the necessary components. I agree with you there, though. It's a normal piece of gameplay to use the imp, and it's not an attempt to exploit anything. Asking you to recall or deconstruct is silly. Your enjoyment of the game should immediately be put on hold so that you can try to keep everybody else from experiencing the bad coding that you're stuck with, that's ridiculous.

The bug has happened to me a few times and i can still be killed, ive been killed by a sniper and someone with a surpessor(sp?).
I admit i have used to bug on purpose, but i usually use it when im just messing around taking empty bases and fighting outfit mates.

I had it happen to me last night.

I had hacked a VS base, killed all the terms as an infil and had killed a few TR people attempting to hack it for them selves.

After hearing about the implants, I think I know what does it but I had never heard of it.

A guy told me I had the corpse bug but I did not believe him at first.

I had like 1:30 to go on my hack and I realized I was invincible. I "exploited" the bug until my hack went through then I got in a Reaver and let them shoot me down.

I talked to the guy quite a bit - he was pretty cool about it. Technically, I should have probably not held the hack, but the bug was not my fault, and I have not levelled for 2 weeks.

Anyway - Devs should fix it...

Since I might as well say something meaningful, I will say that the number of offenders is on the rise for every empire. I try to /t the people I see doing it, but you can't get to them all. In fact one guy who I notified decided to be the super medic lol! Invincibility + adv medic = teh winnar!!!111~

At least they've managed to cut down on the "invisible HA armed man" bug quite a bit. That was rather irritating.
