Hello, since the last couple of patches I've been getting really bad performance, and have had to turn my vid settings down to low to get decent FPS. I am running a pentium 4, 2 GHZ, w/ 512 MB of ram, and a 64 MB DDR Nvidia Geoforce MX 420. I am using a cable modem thru Adelphia and have no speed problems with other internet-related things. When I first bought the game I only had 256 MB, but the perfomnace was so horrible I went out and bought more ram. That solved my problem then, but the bad performance seems to be catching up for some odd reason. Has anyone else noticed a decrease in performance recently?

I run the exact same video card and have my settings on medium and it works fine. Now, I used to have 512 MB of RAM and I would get a lot of chop. I currently put in 1 GB of RAM and it runs like a dream.
Also have an Athlon 1700+, oh the speed baby ha!
I'd suggest getting more RAM before a video card. Check out www.googlegear.com or www.newegg.com
Googlegear has a 256 MB Radeon card for $139.00 if I remember correctly.
You can also get a Crucial 512 MB stick of 266mhz DDR RAM for $75.

performance for me is lackluster...but whats really bugging our squad is all the crashes over the last 4 or 5 days. all of us crash and at least 2 or 3 times for every couple of hours that we play. but, back on topic.. i run the same card and have an athlon xp2000 with 512 of DDR. FPS just suck when there are people around me..horrid!!!

I used to have a geforce2 mx with a 1.6 p4 and 768 megs of ddr. I upgraded the vcard to a radeon 9500 and have since gotten much much better fps. Maybe up the ram a little and please get a new vcard :D.

You have the same video card I have and just so you know, we both got scammed. You also only have 512 RAM, up that to a gig.
After a new video card and doubling your RAM you're probably looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of $280.

I have the devloper's version (nVidia Quadro 750XL) of the GeForce 4 ti4400 with 128 MB DDR on board running at AGP 4x on an Athlon 2000+ XP with 768 MB PC2700 DDR RAM... and when 30 people are fighting for control of a tower, for example, my framerate drops below 10 FPS at the Medium/Recommended video settings, while my ping hovers at 50ms with <1% loss.
Figure that one out... it may not be top-of-the-line, but my system should be WELL within specifications.

gf4 mx 420 is the problem (its 64mb sdram not ddr btw).
i use to have one, i usually got less than 30 fps average (athlon 1700, 512mb ddr).
i recently upgraded to a geforce fx 5200, and now i usually average 60fps in open area, with slightly higher graphics (large battles still a bit laggy though).
