Hey, I've thought of a funny yet kool idea for PS. None other than the shovel! It would be a tool that can be used by soldiers to dig trenches. Also, in the trenches, bases or something like an AMS can be built.

Another idea for the med/hvy assault is med/hvy assault pistols. When you get hvy assault for eg., it should come with the whole thing! A better pistol for each faction. This would make infiltrators much more effective.

These are just some things that pop up in my head once and a while and thought might be kool.

I kind of like the idea so you could "dig" in a help hold a line for defense purposes. However, what's to stop some smacktard from digging up the whole continent/planet. They would need to be some kind of restrictions. Maybe you could only make so many holes and they could only be a certain size. I don't know. It's a very creative idea though. I just don't see how it could work. We already have people falling into holes in the ground/facilities already...Do we really need more holes to fall into? :p hehe

i like the idea, people did it in Red Faction sometimes, but that sjust it right? Red faction was the first game to fully incorporate Geo-Mod technology - where you could blow the fuck out of the gorund. However, there are two problems with this and PS

1) The geomod was an engine - e.g., for that to workm they would need to re-write the engine.

2) Red faction games are 15 minutes long max - PS world never ends, so unless it built back in 15 mins or something, like Man said, there would jsut b e holes everywhere.

A specific post from the official forums comes back to me. A player suggested damagable facility and tower walls. SporkFire replied to him and said it was a good idea and he'd suggest it to the rest of the team. Will it ever happen? Probably not, but don't sell him short just yet.

The GeoMod technology is also massively limited. Take a look at Red Faction 1 and 2, there is a very finite amount of things that you can destroy. The coding necessary to GeoMod an entire Planetside continent would be mind boggling to say the least. Assuming they could actually do that, however, I think they'd be able to implement it. You could 'reset' the areas around the base after they were abandoned for a certain period of time, it wouldn't be any different than the char marks and bullet holes that litter a tower stairwell after a large fight but which aren't around the next day when you log on.

Like the idea of digging holes, was thinking of a way they could explain dissapearing holes away and thought perhaps the holes might just colapse after a certin amout of dissused time.

also thinking about damage to base structures. It would be cool if engys would have terminals where they could asses damage and repair the terminals which would be like actually repairing the wall or windo or somtain' you know?
