View Full Version : Help a dying player

Help me find a cause worthy to keep playing. After reaching battle rank 16 and command rank 2, I have not found the point in playing. With the endless zergs for the same ol' bases and the constant unbalancing that SOE has a tendancy to do. With no point in defending bases, it the same routine every time I play.
1: Find squad
2: Find base
3: Zerg base / or be zerged out of a base
4: Die repeatedly by enemies or tk'ers
5: Cap base
6: Get a little xp
7: Repeat steps 2 - 6
Now how fun is that? I played AC 1 and at least that had some new and interesting stuff every update. (I know that AC is not a fps but you get the idea.) Now why would I spend the monthly fee on PS if all I get to do is meet new people and hopefully kill them? AC has the possibility of meeting new people and either killing them (or be killed by them) or link up with them and play together without a level cap that is reachable in a short amount of time.
Not that anyone at SOE reads any of this, but dangit! Get your poop in a group!
I've run into the same problem. I currently got ET up on my computer and it's a blast. Now i'm battling myself in my mind that i should play PS tonight and visit my outfit along with having a same ol' fight, or i could paly ET and have a blast.
:sigh:

Exactly, I am pondering about getting SWG. I know I have heard a lot of bad stuff about it, but I am into games like that.

The only true way to keep up the intrest is to create more to the game. The best way at the moment is with the use of Outfits, find a good outfit, - by this i mean make sure they have:
1. A webpage
2. A forum
3. Active Players
then participate or create spcifics that will keep up the intrest.
Here are some examples but the whole idea for this post is to get YOUR creativity going and thus keeping you intrested:
*Make specific squads with specific duties.
*organize training sessions, try out particular tactics.
*Have competitions in the outfit.
* take over a base on an emenys backyard and see how long you can hold it for.
Theres pleanty more, hopfully that will get your thinking caps started...
I leave you with a quote...
The only true way to get help is to help ones self.

Intruder is right. A good outfit inceases the fun level dramatically. In my current outfit we have specialty squads. Like armor/air core/infantry. Stuff like that. Also try some things that weren't exactly intended with the game. Today me and a few other outfit-mates set up a deathmatch. We all went to konried and we had 2 people on each empire. We then all got the med assault cert and an ams cert and went to a deserted continent. Set up the AMSes and have at it. We did rifles/pistols/knife fights. All sorts of things you can do. Just experiment.

well from my 7day trial experince I already know after a while I'll be bored, so when I bought the GAme, I also included the 90 day card.
hmm lets see this is day 9 waiting for the game to arrive so I then removed PS and then DL'd the 7 day trial again, just so I can play again, and no luck, Another thread about that, and damn I was at the advance noob statis, and this will all be new again. I think someone shot the carrier piegon that was delivering the game, if nothing arrives by tommorow Im just going to cancel everything and give up on PS.

I couldn't agree more. I found a good outfit and it really renewed my gameplay experience. I was in the same mindset that you're in now. The novelty wore off of PS and I was, admittedly, looking elsewhere for gaming goodness. My old outfit was small, and I'm on different hours than they were. So we never saw each other. The new outfit i'm in is larger, more people are on when I am, and they're very organized. This is good because that's my play style. I'm actually excited to play with them, it's kinda refreshing too.
