what if there were 1-point PURELY COSMETIC certifications? you spend a cert, and your avatar changes. perhaps you get a cooler helmet, or animal furs (for that berzerker look), perhaps a cape or cloak, or an ornamental sword (for the civil war colonel look). you could have brass knuckes or spikes on your shoulder, or devil horns or glowing eyes.

what do you think of the idea? it would get rid of all those annoying times when you have one free cert, and nothing to spend it on. suddenly, you look awesome!

post any of your ideas for 1-cert costume change ideas.

An idea we've been throwing around the outfit is a 1-cert flag that goes on your back. The flag looks cool and people see the flag and think "hey, that guy looks cool due to the flag that also happens to look cool on his back. Let's follow him."

like samurais in a war carrying their outfit logo on a flag tied to a stick or something on their back!

I wouldnt have thought you would need to be certified to wear something. :P

Cosmetic enhancements should come from rank. CR you recieve a piece of flair with each level. Should be the same with BR.

Maybe they should leave the leveling open. With every 7th BR level you'll recieve an additonal enhancement. Say at 21 you get to choose a cape style and what to display on it. At 28, you get to choose the type of sword you want.

Hell, after BR 20, the number of points to move up would be so great maybe you just implement this with each additional level.

I do agree that there should be some 1-cert items, but these should be things like a bandolier to hold one additional box of ammo, or possibly a riot shield that block bullets and allows only use of handguns/knives.

that'd also be the first guy i shoot when i see him coming over the hill with that oh so distinguishable "kick me" sign on his back.

I think the 1 cert should be spent on a personal midget.

no kidding. i dont think futuristic soldiers would wear that kind of thing. and i dont think certs are the thing to get different looks. you should earn that through experience.plus the looks you earn would give you more of an edge.

cosmetic changes ought to be based on achievements in game.

ought to be a "ladder" u can climb within each cert type.

Why spend it on this when you could get a personal midget with a broomstick slingshot able to carry in backpack i'd spend my 1 cert point on the midget!

I like the general idea...but not the furs...thats stupid. this isnt DAoC. It shouldnt look EXACTLY like say, a BR6 looking like a BR20 CR5. it should be different. how? i dont know. I'll leave that to the devs.

I only say its a good idea (which I did without bothering to read it) is if there is a cert for the eyes to imagine everyone without heads on their shoulders.

You should be able to purchase a handlebar moustache. And a top hat. And a monocle.

some pretty cool ideas.

i'd also like to see some vehicle modification certs....like new paint jobs, small "engine" modifications etc, just little 1 cert things ;)
