The rule of you get what you pay for is not always true in ebay land though. Case in point, a nice new custom bass guitar for a measly 150$. That is an insane price for the kinda bass my brother got. He stills plays it to this day and it still sounds/looks great.

If I where you squeeky, I would build my own mode of transportation, but then again I am a bit more of a gearhead then most. Whatever floats your boat, it is your money. :D

Walking is not easy, i live about 3 miles from the neighborhood 70% of my friends are in and hate walking. I would love to be able to cruise up there, to the grocery store, or a restaurant at high speed. Our school also allows scooters, and would allow me to sleep in 40 minutes :)

I have plenty of reasons to get this scooter, and last but not least, my friend has one and it is a blast to ride

Where are you guys getting $50? I see that it costs almost $250, SHIPPING is $50 on top of that...

Seems like a rip off to me, some of the local kids around here have those, and they are insanely slow, and the dumb kids keep jetting out into the street, we have already had one little kid killed a few years ago from riding into the street... Only time till one of these kids gets the milk truck in the forehead trick...

I already have a savings fund with an undisclosed amount of money that is deposited annualy as a fund for a car when i'm 16, my grandma has been adding to it since i turned 4. Not to mention my college fund :)

I arranged with the seller that i would cut out the $50 shipping and drive to pick it up (store is close). I also found out that retail for this model scooter is $500 and he sells them so cheap because he buys them in huge bulk and owns two different companies or something. It is a good deal....

That said, a scooter would have been neat when I was a kid but I think for that price you're probably gonna get burned :( If anything I'd consider saving up and either trying to find a used one you can inspect/have checked out before you pay for it or a new one altogether.

I dunno why you need a scooter, just seems like something that will be a pain in the ass to keep running. I personally at age 15 still find a bike to be a good means of transportation. I average 12-15mph. Plus my town has a whole train system and kids can take the bikes inside the train and its free if we only go 1 or 2 stops which we normally do. Maybe its just that my town is set up well... I dunno... END OF RAMBLING:D
