I have looked all over the forums and can't find anyone mentioning this.

I am playing on the 7 day trial (planning/hoping to buy). Anyway, the first thing I noticed about this game when I got to the menu screens was that cursor movement is very unresponsive. It seems like mouse acceleration on an extreme scale, and it is the same in-game.

I move the mouse a little bit and my cursor/crosshair barely moves, and then I move it a little bit faster and its flying around all over the place.

I have gotten used to this somewhat over a the past week, but It still bothers me. I have mouse acceleration turned off in logitech's drivers, and in every other game the movement of the cursor or crosshair seems proportional to the amount I move my mouse.

Please tell me theres a way to fix this... or at least that I'm not the only planetside player that has a problem with it!

Thanks!

I've got a Logitech MX700, no mouse acceleration, and I've not played with the Planetside mouse settings. I do not have the same problems as you, it sounds very unusual.

Are you in a max?

its even worse in a max, but no i am a grunt

edit: "flying around all over the place" was a bit of an overstatement, but the cursor/crosshair moves too slow an then if I move the mouse a little faster, it moves way too fast.

I'll try newer mouse drivers i guess.

mouse settings can be adjusted in the keyboard settings

Hit Esc
Keymapping (or key--something)
Then click the little mouse icon in the top-middle-ish area
Set your controls.
Hit save

I appreciate the responses, but I'm not a newb. I have been playing fps games, many of them competitively, since wolf3d.

I have used the in game menu to tweak my sensitivity and the problem still exists. In fact I just did a test. I was in the planetside options menu and I was able to my mouse VERY slowly all the way accross my mousepad without the cursor moving on screen at all. When I move my mouse quickly by an inch, the cursor moves all the way accross the screen.

This does not happen in windows or any other game. In everything else my cursor movement is directly proportional to the amount my mouse is being moved.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can provide help!

I updated from Mouseware 9.42 to 9.78(current) and the problem is gone.

Are you saying that you don't use your mouse to shoot people? What do you use the arrow keys? :ugh:

I've noticed that as well. if you do small, slow movements like twitching your sniper rifle a hair to the left the cursor plods along like it's moving through frozen molasses. entire mousepads in length to get the slightest change in aim are not unheard of. if you do the normal 'OMG HE'S OVER THERE QUICK SHOOT HIM!' movements as you're running around the screen will move around at a normal rate. I just got used to it sucking so much and learned to ignore the problem.
