The reason for fighting.

Ok, now that the game has been out for a while. I have a question for every one. Even though this is just a game, Are ppl choseing sides because of the cuase, (Freedom, Control, and what ever the VS are fighting for) or are ppl choseing sides for weaponry? And if why do you chose weaponry or cuase? Even though it is a game, you have to admit, alot ppl take it seriosly. I mean, some of the men that I fight along side fight for the cause. I mean, do you ppl beleive in the saying "Any weapon can destroy a man, but not even the strongest weapom can destroy the cause he belives in, for that cuase will live om, even though he won't."? So huge outfit leader told us that saying once before we went onto battle, and I just want to see what the men and wemen of PS think.

People that stay stuff like that are just getting into the game a little too much. I've chose the Terran Republic becouse of their weapons, at first it was just their colors. But that was before the weapons. The Devs haven't really led into any History about the factions except for how they got here. No ruined cities, no artifacts, no urban colonies. I just play for the vehicles and weapons that I like.

Edit: Another thing, since I've joined the Digital Marines, I would NEVER leave the TR.

I just joined the NC just because i thought they had the coolest armor types and stuff, because i guess all of the weapons are (or meant to be) balanced.

i joined for the cause, well, really, i joined to fight along side the 1st Armored Division, who later merged with the Black Hawks, i fight along side them, and because of them id never leave the NC. well that and my Br 17 Cr 3 char....

I have joined all three because I want to try out all of them. This is just a game here and we're not really fighting for a real cuase. And the second thing is that we don't know enough facts as wether the tr had a good empire going where everyone was treated equally and we don't know exactly what the vanu are doing with this technology. So we have no clue which side is good and which one is evil. I always like to join the good guys and since I have no clue who they are I joined all three, and not because I like to switch when they make a nerf/upgrade (I've said this to much, I'll makle it my sig). I would tell people to join an empire that has a good outfit and an empire that has the best weapons and vechicles suitied for them.

i joined nc at the very beginning for the cause, but i got to like lvl 4 and found that i hate their weapons, so i went to tr cuz i like the cycler, mini chain gun, but most of all the max's:D

They could put the vanu it... probably greatly over power all other empires though. Adding another empire would add alot of balence issues and more graffic modleing and skinning. I don't think we'll see another empire and if we do it would most likly be in an exspansion.

but if we add vanu the VS will go with them or all empires will have to form toghter to kill the vanu.

Maybe the Vanu S could go into a civil war. Like Vanu human and Vana (full). The whole thing could have happen becuase more people wanted to have vanu mixed with human but Vana full want Full Vana stuff and wanted to look for Vana.

Idea: How about Vana S were testing something and then a huge bomb went off the thing they were test caused 60% of the Vanu to go Fully Vanu. and there a civil war.

I Joined VS because im a techno - phreak and so when i read the vanu really like swank technology iknew they were immediately for me. Then i saw the hover-tanks, jumpjet maxes and lazer guns andi fell in lurve :love:

Id go with whoever offered me the most advanced gear (not most powerful) Like if full vanu sed come fight fo us and ill give you a jetpack and hover-boots, and the half vanu said theydd give me the games only tactical nuclear warhead launcher id go full Vanu :D

Will Full Vana want Human Vana killed. Human Vana want Full Vana killed becuase they look ugly. The ugly part is just a example.

Probably Full Vanu, as i think it'd be cool to be an alien :D , i like to be different :p . Id DEF be full Vany if they didnt look human, ie 10 ft tall, had 6 arms, 2 legs and were purple skinned... that'd be sweet

But if they had the same stuff then there would be little use in making them at all. It would only cut the VS population in half while making it easier to kill both vanu empires because they are enemies and aren't organized with each other. If they put vanu in then they would need some new stuff with them. But I say that that's probably not going to happen. Three empires is good for me. The population for each server is bad enough. I think that they should just make some more new empire specific stuff in one of the following patches. As it stands now the only things that are different are, the maxs, the tanks, the buggies, the HA MA and AV. They need new empire specific stuff to set of each empire to make them more unique. The thing that I hope gets added next is heavy empire specific tanks. As it is now the empire specific tanks are only classified as medium, but they'res already another fourm on wanted heavy tanks.

well when i first saw the site i looked at the empires and i like being the freedom and stuff empire so i looked into the nc and liked them because of how they looked and their goals. i did all this before i could get into beta and i am still true to the nc

but then you'd be left with an empire that had only 40% it's prior population and a new one with 60% of the old empires population. That would mean that nc and tr would be at 100% there normal popluation and the old vanu only at 40% and the new at 60%. Both vanu empires would be devistated because of there low popluation. This would also cause outfits to break apart as well as friends who used to play together to be enemies. Now if you got to change and stay as a vanu then I say it would be cool because you could stay with all your outfit members, look cool, and have a poplutation good for battling the tr and nc. I would just hope the mutation wouldn't make you a bigger target. The 6 arms someone said would be cool but cheap if you could use all 6 of those arms.

Will maybe both sides had a machine that would allow you to change. back and forth. Or and if they do this they should ask right when you log in or when your in the game and it happens. To choose which one you want to be.

then you could have a DNA alteration terminal that makes you transform... sweet.

The cool thing would to be is step on people and just walk on them. But if the game dev wanted to due this i think they would only add like 10-50 people to be this.

hmm well it think this thread has become more of a wishlist then why do you play for a certain side. I'll stop replying so people can get back on topick. But before I do I'll say this. The 6 arms would make up for the new vanu pop loss, but the 40% old vanu would be doomed. And if you can change from new vanu or old vanu empire then that would make populations unstable even more. Well good ideas I gusse and it would be cool to have 6 arms and be 100 feet tall, but they probably wouldn't work, they would have to work out many, many bugs with this idea and exploits and I don't think the devs would like to do this... along with all of the other things they're trying to do already.

But i think that if the vanu S who love tech and find how to create obrtial strike could cause a whole shortage of NC and TC because then everybody will love to make orbital stike things. So even before the dev add something i think they should add it to common pool or make 3 new iteams 1 for each empire.

Oh i don't know, if you like being a sniper, the lancer does a fine job of it. The lasher rocks now, thus all the lamers jumping ship to the VS, think I saw recently 45% were VS on One of the servers.
