Sorry, couldn't resist. This might help.

The following is some information that may help some of you experiencing problems with the LaunchPad and registering your account.

 Routers, Firewalls, and anti-virus software. This is due to the same problems that we see in general connection problems. Either the firewall is blocking the port for the patch server (open ports 7000 and 7070) or the port forwarding/triggering is not set up properly. You have a couple of options if this is the source of the problem.

o One choice is to bypass the router/firewall and check the connection to the patch server.

o Two, some players were able to patch by simply powercycling the routers and clearing the NAT tables.

o Three, weve tested a large number of routers and firewall software and they should work in the default configurations, you can attempt to reset the router to these defaults, and there are instructions on this in the tech support section of the website.

 Internet Security Settings: you can adjusting the Internet Security Settings.

Try the following procedure and then restart the Launchpad:
Open Internet Explorer
Menu: Tools -> Internet Options
Tab: Security
Button: Custom Level
Scroll Down to bottom
Make sure "User Authentication: Logon" is set to "Automatic logon only in Intranet Zone"
Button: OK
Button: OK

In a few rare cases some people cannot patch due to an ISP side problem. In this case the isp is blocking the port that you are trying to use to connect.

To use an ISP web proxy
Open internet explorer, go into tools/internet options, click on the connections tab, click LAN settings at the bottom, Tick the "use a proxyserver" box and enter in the next box and ISP provided web proxy server and port 80 in the next box. Ok it all. Close the patcher and I.E and fire it back up.
