Vanu Max appearance changing/has changed?

I must say the first thing that caught my eye for Vanu was their awesome looking Max units.
This one in particular

Then I look at this image and I wonder if either this seemingly newer one is misleading or just at a bad angle.
The "older" looking pic looks alright but this pic just seems to say heavy, bulky and slow..Not what the Vanu are....
there are a few differences too if you pay careful attention....(obviously ignoring the color change from BEP's)
Its hard to tell because of the lighting but in the in game capture the head portion of the armor seems different; bigger maybe? Dunno what it is....

Did they change the model/skin or is the latter image the actual shot of a Max that is planned to be used for release? Someone please shed the light.

You're forgeting that this is a MAX armor, it's mainly for heavy assault and infantry support. The VS MAX is still slower than normal infantry, but it is faster than the TR MAX(bowling ball with legs) or the NC MAX(lego power).

In the in game screenshot the gun seems somewhat bigger and the barrel(whatdya call the end of a energy gun??) looks slightly different(rounded perhaps)Could just be lighting though...

dont forget that there are 3 different types of MAXs. anti-infantry, anti-vehicle, anti-air

Both MAX's and the arnaments they have on do look similar in both pictures though. Damn lighting

The skin does change as you gain battle ranks, the lined up pic is proberly lowest rank. And if the second pic could be battle rank 20.

I think that the factions should *brighter* as they gain rank. Look at the military of the past and present. The older uniforms were very flamboyant and "poofy" for the highre ranking officers, while today, stars, leafs, and a hole shit ton of stripes. It would make them better targets and they would have to stay inside, or travel with a security detail.

Well there is definately a color difference. That's from BEP ranks as I understand. And actualy model enchancements/changes are from CEP's. Im assuming this screenshot was obtained from a review however, in which I read all participants were given a maxed out characted in CEP's and BEP's. Im referring to the ingame screenshot(the second link). So I'm guessing this is the final appearance....though for one there is still a lot of info to be discovered about this game and and the finite details of the ranking system

I would rather have a darker suit, makes it easier to hide.
But then again, the beginners might need that ekstra edge.

The shift to brighter, more noticable collors was intentional. This give veterans a harder time, and lets the enemy spot the bigger threat easyer.

Terrans start black and gain red with rank.

New Conglomerates start blue and gain gold with rank.

Vanu start purple and gain teal with rank.

Can cmmdrs have any armor they want? If so, every 4 star general will have AP MAX armor.

Well, keep in mind, this (http://www.vanusovereignty.com/common/images/img_view.jsp?img=4&collection=ps_vanu_soldiers) is a high quality render.

This (http://www.pscommand.com/modules.php?set_albumName=album01&id=VS_Max&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php) however, is a much lower quality in-game version. Of course there's also the lighting...

But if you look at the renders on the NC site vs. NC in-game pics, it's the same story, less detail to improve fps.

Yeah i loved the Britney thing on liquid, saw it a while back and was like "wtf?" :lol:

As for the cute pic of her it might have some digital aid but you would be surprised what make-up artists can do, they are called make-up artists for a reason. :p

Look at the top of her dress... yeah, you were probably looking in that area, anyways, but pay attention to the lighting and color - especially over on the right. That is DEFINITELY photoshopped. The color's too uniform, and the lighting looks a bit... off. That's to say nothing of the airbursh job that's so shameless, even the Maxim editors would be impressed. ;)

And you're right, makeup artists can do amazing things. My step-mom's one of 'em; she used to work for Dreamworks, and now she teaches, but still does the makeup for the odd show here and there. She did some work on a Faith Hill/Tim McGraw special recently, and I'll say that Faith Hill is gorgeous even without the makeup, but it's just unbelievable what a difference the makeup makes.
