View Full Version : LLU and hovercraft

Is it just me, or will the VS get a huge advantage delivering the LLU with their hovercraft? Check out Cyssor, for example, and see how easy it is to choke a LLU carrier at a bridge, unless of course there's a hovercraft involved, in which case it's just a short hop across the water.

I don't think the existence of the Deliverer mitigates this problem. It's unimpressive in its primary role and has only a fraction of the speed in water of the hovercraft.

Perhaps I don't have all the information on this issue, please tell me your opinions.

i do have to agree with you about vs and the hovercraft, they could sweep wide around the bridge and avoid most of the defenders, we'll have to see how it plays out tho.

Your forgetting the most important vehicle.... Hopefully my sig will help... beats any hovercraft ;)

i believe ur restricted to ground vehicles while carrying the LLU

nooooooo

then yes Vanu def have an advantage . esp the thresher with its high speed.

once again the vs get the advantage (not to complain of course:D) I'm sure the dev's will think of something i'm thinking they shouldn't make it all ground vehicles possibly sund and deliverer only? now that would make things intresting.

talk about the teamwork that would half to take place, and we'd more commonly see the del

The speed of ground vehicles is drastically reduced also. So I rekon over water the Magrider will top 40ish kph and the thresher 50kph maybe less.

Correct. Both the Thresher and the Magrider slow down drastically over water. Any Reaver pilot worth his salt could easily catch and destroy them.

LLU carriers can't board a gal.

Yeah, and also even though they may be able to go over water they still can be gunned down just as easily. And hey we should let the VS keep they're technology, that's what they're based on along with mobility. But hey we'll see how LLU works out.

EDIT , sorry, they changed the rules, then i have no idea how they will solve this one.

If a magrider or thresher carrying the LLU over water and it gets destroyed, where does the LLU go?

If it sinks to the bottom, well VS are screwed.

If it floats on the water, you have to get out to get it(if you can get out).

So if you get out of your vehicle, you might dismount on it and grab it, but then you sink to the bottom. And drown. The end.

Lol yep sounds like a problem here, would be funny to watch though:D . Wonder how they're going to fix this one.

Sounds fine to me, as Writhen said the VS may be able to go over water, but without effective air cover they have ZERO chance of delivering the LLU.

The mag or threshers blows up, the LLU is lost, simple as, meaning you will have to try and choose what action to take, do you go for land based transport with escorts/minesweepers? do you risk the water run without or with air cover meaning if you get spotted you die, deliverers in the water could also prove deadly. Have 3 or 4 patrolling the water with a few reavers/mossies means the vanu dont get past.

A Liberator could swing fairly wide of a bridge battle to successfuly deliver that LLU

jeez - the person carrying the LLU is not allowed in ANY air vehicle, in ground vehicles top speed is reduced also and the LLU carrier is not allowed to pilot or drive anything, only allowed as a passenger.

I didn't read that far. I lost interest in it about third paragraph down.

i know how they'll solve it.

LLU's are not allowed in hovercraft.

That simple

They'll make something up like "The LLU's frequencies interfere with the MagRider and Thresher's hover pods" Just you watch.

I dont think vanu should be able to travel more than 20ft across water period :p

Yes the VS have hovercraft but everyone can use the deliverer, which easily does what the hovercraft can do, cross water.

I think we can both agree that MagRiders are a little bit more common than Deliverers, though. They're just a bit more armored too. You'll easily be able to get a lift in a hover vehicle on the Vanu side. And, really, it's expected that the people with the LLU will form a convoy. So it's not just one MagRider going across the water, it's a bunch of air support and, if they're trixie, other MagRiders going along with the one carrying the LLU, so as to confuse the enemy. On Cyssor, even TR/NC a convoy would be slowed down considerably, because bridges can be mined/turreted all to hell, and Liberators made their worst enemy. With the Vanu, you'd never know exactly where they'll cross, so you can't set up any static defense with reasonable certainty of the enemy crossing through it. You have to try and spot them early on and hope for the best.

Simply put, Vanu will have an easier time delivering LLU's as long as they don't change the hover capability of vehicles with an LLU.

The person carrying the llu can only be a passenger in a vehicle. The magmower and thresher only have driver and gunner slots. There is no problem here, if I am not mistaken.

Multipule Masgmowers wouldn't help...The LLU is supposed to turn you into a human glow stick, I doubt that would be lost if you entered a vech.

Jaged you can get in as a gunner I think, we tried it as Vanu on the Test server and a few of our members were able to get into the Mag's gunning position with the LLU.

*I think, I shall have to go and double check
