I noticed that the test server patch notes say that the Lasher AND Starfire adjustments are continuing to be tested. Can anyone tell me what exactly they changed about the Starfire? It doesn't seem to be actually documented anywhere.

The starfire now does 20% less damage, but no longer suffers from damage degradation over range.
I think the total range they can travel has increased too.
That still doesn't solve the problem that whenever there is a slight breeze those damn cotton balls come to a complete stop for a second.

As if the StarFire was overpowered or something. The other two AA MAX units are far more deadly on air targets. Especially against Galaxies and Liberators due to their higher threshold.

they didn't fix jack or shit about the starfire's projectile speed or range in this patch. in fact, over on the OF spork even chimes in with a wonderfully out of touch message along the lines of 'I'm looking at the numbers and they say that the starfire's projectiles move as fast as the sparrow's and have the same range'.
yeah, you can tell he's ever bothered to play one in the actual game right?
P.S. next they'll probably say 'plasma damage is working as intended'

dude, if they have the same range and go the same speed they do, no matter what your eyes tell you.

...liberators can outrun starfire projectiles, but they not even a speeding reaver can outrun a sparrow projectile...hmm, i wonder which is faster?
P.S.: WTF is up with decreasing the starfire's damage? It was pathetic to begin with (10-12 shots to down a reaver, which is one and a half clips, which also ties into its other problem, its incredibly small clip size, 8)

So it went from a sucky max to a better, yet worse one thats still sucky? Great.
I dont have a problem with the 20% decrease so much as I do the clip size and projectile speed. The 20% decrease should now compensate for the lack of range degradation, (I hope) but it still sucks.
P.S. We all know Spork doesn't actually play the game. The OF will burn out anyone reading it within 5 minutes, and he has to read EVERY post! :(

well what do you want me to say to someone saying 'the VS have been too good for too long'? that's right up there with 'boy the sun sure is cold today' only more insulting because he's laughing at VS.
