going into enemy sanctuaries would be cool.
Would suit my: Distant winning condition scenario.

It would defeat the purpose of it being a sanctuary, why not just call it "The place where you see more vanu than anything". Always some good information, but Hamma has to give more at a time :), or the game will be out by the time we get to see all of it :p.

I agree Sanctuary = Sanctuary :)

If an enemy could invade the Sanc it should be only in some extreme condition like if the Sanc they want to invade has been cut off for a day or 2 or something like that.

Good job Hamma. Nice to know about the hacking and keep it coming.

Yeah, I'd almsot like to see any empire go into the sanctuaries but it would be a problem and probably get annoying quickly. Spies could watch and tell their empire when a large group of people are getting ready for an attack.

Kriev-Xy
2003-01-07, 12:29 PM
the question is... other than spying.. what would ex. the Vanu soldier do in the TR sanctuary?

Hamma
2003-01-07, 12:37 PM
nothing. lol

Kriev-Xy
2003-01-07, 12:42 PM
then the point of having the enemy enter the santuary would be a waste of time and coding to make it that he can enter it.. SOMETIMES.. :D which he will do nothing there :D unless we can fist fight! :D

scientific experiments.

Maybe whatch how often the TR run against a wall till they turn anway.

I think that you should be able to invade the enemies sanctuary if you capture a certain amount or maybe all of the continents

That would also be useless, they don't turn away.

I don't plan on being a commander. I don't really think sitting there commanding is my thing nd I dont want to get blamed for things... :) But it'd be nice to know. A friend and I were discussing how it would work and both of us were very unsure.

Would be interesting if you could enter a sanctuary, but all weapons are dissabled, so there wouldn't be much a point except for sending a guy requesting the VS and TR's surender.

Zatrais

surender?

wasat? =D

That's how I see it. The only useful reason I can see it is if an enemy commander has come to negotiate about territory. For example a NC commander speaks with a Vanu commander to coordinate an attack on a particularily saturated TR populated zone.

Blitzkrieg
2003-01-09, 06:45 AM
A jointed strike, hmmmm...
Not a bad idea, except for back-stabbing, being able to kill allies, having to decide who stays with that territory after the battle and not really accomplishing anything but not a bad idea at all. :D

Buck
2003-01-09, 07:42 AM
Thats what its all about isnt it? Killing, backstabbing, unfullfilled promises, temporary alliances, food shortages... Its war. If a Vanu helped me knock out a TR stronghold I would say thank you...Then shoot him in the mouth. :D

Blitzkrieg
2003-01-09, 07:52 AM
There is something about killing Vanu that make a person feel all warm and fuzzy inside :D
And backstabbing one... thats just poetic

I totally agree! see how easy it is to create a common bond? I would gladly work with the Terran to stick some Vanu every now and again  ... I project that certain areas outside of certain Jumpgates will become almost proprietary colonies to the faction of which that particular gate is linked to. On occasion these fortresses must fall. Because, they must. The further from the supply chain the weaker the outposts. Hence larger, more organized forces will need to be gathered to knock out the larger, more populated/popular, fortresses. Of course there MAY ;) be tactical, or moral issues among the foot soldiers depending on thier alignments, however, combining say... Vanu MAX and TR MAX attacking an NC outpost simultaneously. 150 Vanu MAX jump jet into the court spreading panic and mayhem, whil 80 TR MAX provide AA, and Anti-Vehicle support to counter any incoming reinforcements or hose down anyone who flees the battle with some mini-gun fun. The combinations are endless.

You may find yourself seperated from your detachment and find yourself on the run from the Vanu and run across an NC in the same predicament. Do you work together, or shoot that bastard straight in the eye right away?

I know its a long shot, wicked long shot, but a feature I would like to see, would be the ability to identify and take commanders hostage. Adding this feature could be an excellent, almost, capture the flag type, LIVE mission. Of course the commander could always blow away his captives himself and escape if proper precautions are not taken. Positives and minus' are respectively given to each team. For example, a kidnapped commander would allow players on the hostage taking team to see enemy units on thier map. While on the other side, a penalty such as sporadic communications loss, or supply/spawning issues could result. Thus making the commander a more valuable asset to be guarded... like a commander usually is. How you could do this is beyond me. Whether its a drive by snatch-and-grab or a custers last stand type scenario I don't know. I'd love to hear your thoughts :)

It'd be funny if let's say TR and NC allied up for a big offensive for some reason. All the little skirmishes between NC and TR would be funny. Of course the Vanu would get destroyed in seconds but it would be funnny after that...Just massive confusion with "spray n' pray".

Ask the devs about pronage:(, or maybe diving to the ground.
It would be nice to see some TR bastage face plant in the dirt before he gets his head shot off. :D

There is something about killing Vanu that make a person feel all warm and fuzzy inside That's impossible, for all you know the Vanu will kick your ass

Sputty

Does it count for killing Vanu if you throw an open bucket of purple paint at people and when it spills on them attack them with a pan?

Not in-game, no. But outfits will almost certainly find one another online, across empire boundries. IF DISCOVERED such actions will certainly result in "punative action", but it probably will happen from time to time.

And it'd piss me off.
