View Full Version : Taking out the amount of people you can have on a server would be a good idea

I use the hart trick all the time as a means on keeping our squad together. Its really going to suck when half our team can get on and the rest can't. Everyone will be hurt by the XP and CR now. Flame away

Wow...wtf was that?! I think when he said flame he meant to flame on-topic ;). As for the HART exploit being fixed, I'm not complaining since it wasn't meant to let you do that.

As long as we are off topic, Revolver, is that a spoon in the upper left of your sig image? And if so... why the hell is there a spoon there? is it in homage to The Tick (not the poorly conceived live action show, but the cartoon, which was great)

You will learn soon enough...and in other news...they could almost just take out the pop lock just to make the hart trick obsolete..but... bleh nvm

Stopping the Hart trick is a good thing. It will cause more than one battle to be up at a time, unlike what happens now.
...That being said, there need to be more people in the world for the other battles to be worth anything. Once the pop lock is fixed, I think they should merge the east and west coast servers. Of course, as we do not know the actual numbers I do not know if this is feasible. But, low population is what is killing the game. Merging without fixing the pop lock bypass is obviously pointless, as that will just cause servers to keep crashing from the endless zergs in one soi.

I still think they'll merge the servers at some point, but the question is how they handle it. I have 2 chars on Johari and 1 on Markov. Luckily I really don't care about my Markov char (VS char only for testing purposes) and if they wiped him I'd shed no tears. The same can't be said for everybody and I know people who have active chars on both servers. Do they relax the one empire for each server rule and take a chance on people cheating the system, or do they force character deletions on people? It could get interesting.

Taking out the HART trick is going to be frustrating when you can't keep your sqaud together. But I understand that is an exploit that needs to be fixed.
As for taking away the "population lock" that would be detrimental to the game play. I beleive they (SOE devs) put that feature in to eliminate/reduce lag issues when battles start gettting too large. If it wasn't there, then everyone would be crying even moreso that there is so much lag I can't even play (have fun).

I think removing the HART exploit is a good thing, it stops all the lag from the 'super-zergs' and will spread the battles around a bit more.
Personally, I think that they should implement a way that squads were the majority (ie, more than half the players) are already on the locked cont. the others could get in still (maybe limit this to outfit squads).

I like that idea nonentity. Now all we need to do is get the devs to listen to us to implement it. That shouldn't be too hard:p ....chaaaaya
