Within seven minutes of sending my first continental chat message (some minor tactical advice) as CR 5, I was pelted with disagreements, flames, and spam... WTF is wrong with people?!

what did you say?!

I was with him. He just sort of suggested that our forces focus on a key facility. Maybe people were just angry because we were getting owned.

what did they say back to you?

Everytime someone send you a /t about what a horrible CR5 commander you are, simply reply and say, "Hey, at least im not Trigganator." I got his dumb ass on ignore.

Completely off topic, is that picture below your name, a photo of you? Woah... hehehe.... heh... good luck with that...

every CR5 gets that stuff. I mean, come on, I dunno why. I normally dont send /tell's to any of the CR5's. Except when its some really really stupid (like TrailRix on Markov). If you really dont like a CR5 that much (and I have run across a few), put THEM on /ignore. Its not that hard, and everyone is happy.

I know this is kinda twist, you are talking from CR5 and I am talking from non, but you get the idea. I dunno W(HY)TF people have to complain.

Most people will complain about everything. Don't take it personal. I've gotten nasty comments and stupid tells from people and I just don't respond. Heck, I barely pay attention to the chat channel as it is. I'm too busy playing to talk. I think that's why I tend to play solo.

What ever a CR5 has to say I take it with a grain of salt and make my own decision as to whither I follow their orders or not. If I disagree, I just do my own thing and try to have fun. It's a waste of time to sit and type out some message unless it's actually useful information.

I think I wanna make an outfit called the PSU Enforcers who just goes around pwning people who mess with memebers of the community, for this would amuse me greatly :D

See, this is one of the reasons I rarely ever command a squad, or try to assist people outside of my outfit. Maybe 5 days ago, I simply broadcast that one of my outfits squads was the only one assiting in base defense and that some of the people waiting for the hack should head own there. Seconds later I got a wave of /t messages that pretty much ammounted to "WAY TU B HELPFULL AZZH0LE IV I C U I WILL PWN U." Well, that was recreated to the best of my abilities, but you get the idea.

Crono, just be content that out of all the people who heard your message on the Continent, only a handful sent you a /t, at least that many players probably found your message helpful.

People get pissed and somehow think you have invaded their space

All the CR5's that use the continental chat on Konreid are pretty helpful, though I would imagine they would get some nasty messages when trying to give help. Most people are good at zerging and destroying terminal, they just need to be told where to go.

If any one is nearly CR5 as VS on Emerald (or alreayd is), please study how CR5s work on other factions and servers and follow suit. I swear to god we have THE WORST CR5s in existence. They rarely say anything other than, "good job on that ant" or "good work on this contient, lets go to their's now." of course, population lock exceeding, we still manage to get worked in their home turf because the CR5 doesn't even hint at having even the slightest ability to actually lead. God forbid the day when they actually, you know, lead us, instead of just telling us what we do right simply with a little zerging luck. What I'm sort of ranting about and trying to point out is that although a few people might get pissed off and say some things, a lot of people find the CR5s helpful and I think they can really help in sweeping a continent.

The only problem I have with the CR5 is that they think that, because they wasted more hours of their life than you, that they are better than you and can tell you what to do. Same goes with people with a high BR. Just because you have more BEP or CEP does not mean that you are a better player or a better person. I know of many people at BR15 who are total newbies, and people at BR3 who could hand me my ass any day of the week.

All the CR gives you is the ability to broadcast messages over longer ranges, and use special commands on the map and the CUD. All that BR gives you is more cert points. Nothing more. Just because you are a CR5 doesn't mean that people have to, or are going to listen to you any more than they did before.

only CR 5's Ive got upset at, and didnt say any thing ,I just ignor 'em ,were the ones that just do not shut up, they flood the chat with repeated commands. CR5's should be only communcating with SL's. when they broadcast they need a squad at such-n-such, seems half the squads head that way, leaveing an weaker defense, when what was only needed was one squad (full squad) to accomplish the task.
only a couple CR5's I have liked and that's because they do not talk much, and the job gets done

Hmm, i'm the other way, i regularly /tell CR5's but not with flames, with useful bits of info, 'this place need help' 'such and such is bringing ant' 'this spawn ppoint camped' etc etc, i know they've got a tough job so i wouldnt dream of flaming them.

it is pointless to flame them.
I never do that, much easier to ignor them. once we had a CR5 had the right idea, and it was working, then he split the force, and that was a wrong move, I always forget to use TELL, but should have. if he had stayed with his first idea/Plan, it would have been total success, but he got greedy in a sense. I just think CR5's can do a better job, by only broadcasting to SL and up. this way when he only needs a squad to do something just one squad will do it, rather then half of them, and they are not knowing that others are doing the same. It just hurts the battle when they spam the chat.
this is one reason why I think there should be a warRoom, so squads can have assignments before battle. The CR can place on a MAp were he wants squads to be and what their needs are, then a SL can select which role his squad best fits in.

Same m8 :) I guess Werner must be a much nicer place :)

I love using report/tells to CR's to get something changed or a useful bit of info passed on, like an underused backup AMS the enemy has, or that an ANT route is guarded (enemy tower etc.) and needs clearing.

I have only ever flamed as it were one person on CR2 when he was LFSM I simply told him not to use command channel to get his squad together but broadcast/local is better and the command channel should really be kept clear of "spam"

The only problem I have with global and continent CR5 chat is the commanders are not very specific with the information they are relaying. Often times, I will reply with a /tell lending suggestions on how to state their commands/request more clearly and concisely. This problem is most likely due to the fact that they are young and lack the experience of trying to motivate a large group for a cause. Further more, I have had luck with explaining to spammy CR5s that people are going to place them on ignore immediately if they have nothing constructive to add to the battle.

Conversely, the same people who send the negative /tell are the 1337 d00ds who are convinced that they know what is best.

CR5s need to stick together and simply lend the /tell to each other to better the way they communicate with the masses. Ignore the crap you receive from the d00ds, digest the good advice, and think clearly and methodically about what you want to say before you press ENTER.
