Greetings all and well met.

I am new to the game, been trying to read up as much as I can on the game from forums and sites. I now have a few questions. (okay, rather many)

If someone would be kind and take time to help this poor fellow out.

1. Im european, and there is only one european server if I got it wrong. What side needs members? (I allways join the loosing side, bloody hero I am)

2. I am a player that enjoy a lot of diffrent type of gameplay. Everything from that support guy in the rear with the gear to that crazy grunt up front screaming stuff about the enemies mommies as he rushes. And I even like the calm style of maybe some smoooooth sniping in the morning. To the point. What type of chars are needed? Are there stuff that nobody plays and they really are needed? I am thinking of making a support char as a main char, then have a grunt and then a sniper as 2 and 3rd char, sounds as a good way to go?

3. I still have a bit of a lack in my understanding about the game, and specially the Engineers work. Putting down mines, boomers, serpents and sensors. How is it done, is it usefull?

4. I hear getting stealth skill (Dont remember its name) is good when you play a CE, you can sneak in and drop some supprises on the enemy.

5. Tip of a viable way for a wannabe CE (atleast now) to go. Go directly for the engi and then CE skills?

6. How much damage does the **alt** do? How are they best used? And for what are they mostly used?

a) Boomers
b) Mines
c) Serpents
d) Sensors

Thanks in advance, Z

1) There is only one European server, as to what side needs players, anything but the Vanu Sovereignty. Either the Terran Republic or New Conglomerate is fine, you really have to play them to decide which you like better.

2) Really there isnt a play style that is under used, although I dont think its a good idea to make 3 diferent characters. You should decide what you want to do in the beggining and learn other skills as you go along. At higher levels you would be able to be both a medic and engineer, as well a being able to carry a heavy weapon to act as a grunt and a sniper rifle when you want to hang back, you could do this all with one character and all at one time.

3) Combat engineering is very simple, you get close to the surface you want to use the ACE on and then simply select one of the four fire modes to choose what you want to create. Spitfire Turrets can be very useful and very annoying for foot soldiers and are always helpful for base defense, mines are great for base defense as well and can be a real pain for tanks, Boomers are incredibly powerful and when used properly can do a lot of damage, as well as being an excellent way to set up an ambush during a hack, the motion sensor is helpful for sniffing out infiltrators and can alert other players early preventing them from getting assassinated.

4) The infiltration suit is a type of armor that makes you completely invisible when used, which works well in unison with combat engineering, but you will only be able to carry 5 aces, meaning you can only set 5 traps while using an infiltration suit due to its very limited inventory space.

5) I would not go directly for Combat Engineering, a better idea would be to get engineering and Medium Assault and then Combat Engineering at the next level.

6) I think you mean the ACE, which is the Combat Engineering tool. The ACE is used very often in nearly every one of those capacities. The Spitfire does amazing damage to infantry and can kill them in a matter of seconds, as well as being an annoyance for vehicles. 2 mines can kill infantry and 4 (I believe) can destroy any tank, so they are very powerful. Boomers do immense damage, shreading through vehicles and MAX units as well as killing all infantry nearby in one blast. Motion Sensors do no damage, but can be very helpful in detecting infiltrators before they can do any real damage.

I hope thats helpful Zertyr

Thanks a lot BigTexas, mighty kind of you to help this viking out some.

But now I got even more questions. hehe.

1. The engy can place out stuff, sentries, mines and so on. I saw the nr limits. But then to the questions. If I place the full nr. How do I get rid of one if we say I want to move one?

2. How long will they stay where I put them? Until destroyed? Do I need to refill ammo on the sentries?

3. If I put up 10 Serpents and mines around one of my teams places and run off to help out in an attack. If nmy gets killed by my gear, will I get xp even tho I am far away?

4. Will I recive xp from healing/repairing ppls armour/health?

Hmm, thats it for now, prolly will have some more questions in a while when I have read more. hehe

Thanks

Z

You can place past the limit, but it will automatically destroy your oldest deployable of the same type already out in the field. For example, if you already have 10 spitfires out there and decide you have the perfect place to stick one you can do it, but the first spitfire you placed will deconstruct itself.

2. How long will they stay where I put them? Until destroyed? Do I need to refill ammo on the sentries?

You don't need to refill ammo, they will stay there until they are destroyed (if it's a hot area there won't be many issues with that).

3. If I put up 10 Serpents and mines around one of my teams places and run off to help out in an attack. If nmy gets killed by my gear, will I get xp even tho I am far away?

As far as I can tell, as long as you remain on the same continent you get the xp. You will get xp messages but if you're too far away you won't get the message about who it was you killed.

4. Will I recive xp from healing/repairing ppls armour/health?

You get no xp for healing as it would be any easy xp exploit.

Other for me, vehicle gunners are needed. Dont know why people dont gun in vehicles more often, its a great way to get kill XP very quickly.
