If something similar to this thread has been posted point me in it's direction and delete this but I could not find such a thing. I'm curious what people think of things after having yesterday afternoon to try it out. The poll only has options on what I assume are the most sensitive subjects, the LLU implementation, and the lasher nerf. But if you have anything to say about the Starfire MAX, ATV cert (horrible idea imo) this is the place to do it :) Also lets avoid the "they should have fixed this bug or that bug before they added this stuff" posts. Sooo, :)

why on earth did they lower the starfire's damage by 20%? Like that was really necessary...
Dev1: Hey what should we do next patch?
Dev2: Lets make the beamer have more range, but lower its damage by 20%, we dont want it being too overpowered.

The damage decrease is only within 50 meters to make it less effective against infantry up close (do you often shoot at aircraft within 50 meters of you?). That means that it is more powerful (due to the removal of the damage degradation) and has been buffed. Of all things for the VS to cry about, this ain't it.

I know the burster sucks at close range, but what about the sparrow? I've seen sparrow users absolutely own infantry, from all ranges. Why does only VS/TR get this penalty?

the burster would 0wn itself at close range if it chose to attack a soldier that got in it's face
god knows why the starfire sucks at close range

The Sparrow can own practically anything. Its missiles once locked on will follow you for a LONG time when in a reaver. I get locked on then use my afterburners completely and then still get hit by like 3-4 missiles. That makes no sense if you can jet away from a burster or a starfire but not a sparrow. That's why VS is always dominated in the air. We can't even get our own aircraft out of the V-pad without a striker or sparrow knocking the hell out of us.

As far as the LLU is concerned I don't think it rocks, but it adds a new twist to things. I personaly like the new patch. The lasher is intended to be a short range weapon and that's what it is now.

Not true.
The Burster doesn't do jack at close range. Get one and allow someone to get within knife range. You can't even kill a cloaker at that range with the Burster. I think rounds have a delay of 10-20 meters before they arm.
I actually had a cloaker try knifing me while I was in a Burster. We sat face to face for 2 minutes. Him knifing me and me shooting clip after clip into him. We eventually called it a draw and went seperate ways.
Edit- Ooops! Haven't had time to test all the new stuff, so I'm not sure at the moment.
Wait, there is one thing. ATV cert is not worth 3 points. I'm fine with combining the two, but 3 points will buy me better vehicles and weapons than that. I'd actually be fine with them making it only 1 cert point but 2 points sounds right. You rarely see either of them anyway.

Yeah for 3 certs I can get a magmower maurader, or a vanguard for that much. Hmmm wonder what I should get, 2 giant tanks, a truck with a machine gun and pounder on it, or two atvs that can be blow up by a mine or one decimator rocket, and are almost exactly the same except one has guns and one can cloak, Lucky thing I was going to drop the baslisk anyway for my maurader again.
Oh and MrCovertMan meant it would kill itself at close range, not own other people at close range, well I don't know if it would hurt itself that much, but the pounder defiantly would.

I meant if the flak actually exploded on close range targets

LLU might not have been bad if SOE had just gone through with the idea instead of trying to play it safe by only puting it on 3 bases per continent. God, these people must ride the short bus to work or something.

I definently think the LLU makes vehicles much more important, especially the fast ones. I have a great screenshot of LLU that the carrier was killed, and 7 reevs are all circling it, with about 3 or 4 skeets as well, 2 prowlers, a sunderer off to the side, and my harraser and a marauder there too. Plus about 5 or 6 reinforced folk standing around too.
Hmm makes having a skyguard as escort kinda appealing.
