SInce I couldn't do offline training, and was told more than once it was basically useless, I have studied the "Operations Manual" and am jumping into battle tonight for the first time ever.
Two questions: I'm thinking of going for a dual speciality: Infiltrator/vehicle specialist
1.) Are these two things compatable? I know I'll need the Infiltration Suit.
2.) Could someone direct me to a good thread for a first-time Planet-sider?
I would sure appreciate it. I do have a good deal of experience with FPS/RTS games also so just Planetside is the new part.

Only small problem I see is you're probably going to want engineering for repairs. But in an inful suit you can't use a repair gun. You could definately drive vehicles in the suit but you'd be reliant on others for repairs, at least until the repair/rearm silos or air pads start doing what they're supposed to. That said an infiltrator in a Mosquito/Wraith and adv hacking can be a great annoyance to the enemy. Nothing like having all of the towers you've capped on a continent taken away as soon as no one is there to guard them.

Did you try making sure you got PS patched before you tried the training? When I first did the training I had to get PS patched.

you could always cert infil, adv hackin and then as many vehicles as possible
then you could play "grand theft auto: Planetside"

The Launcher program did about a 25 minute update when I first signed on yesterday so I assume I'm up to date.
Now as for that Grand Theft: PlanetSide idea... Me like. Me like much...

I'm a dedicated Mosquito pilot and one of my strategies is to wait for the tower defenders to be destracted by ground troops, fly over at the flight ceiling, then hop out right over the tower. It usually works but you don't know how many times I've wished I had an Infil suit.

I was actually thinking about a friendly competition like this. Gone in 60 Seconds, the PS version. Minimum certs are adv. hacking, heavy buggy and medium tank. Every participant has to stand in the HART station until the ref says 'go'. First person to bring back the 4 empire specific vehicles that don't belong to your empire, wins.
It'd be a ton of fun if people played fair.

it would be alot of fun if u snuck up to a enemy vehicle that is parked but still manned and strapped yourself to the bottom of it with a belt like those physco killers.
course if the driver hit a bump the wrong way they'll find a corpse being dragged under their ride

My only suggestion would be to not worry about reapir. Facility benefits will be in soon and you'll be able to reload/repair at any base connected to a dropship center.
