Is it possible to delete something and then empty your recycle bin and then recall them or are they acctualy gone for ever? Someone told me you could. Its really important that I get this file back its a video of a friend who died a few years back.

The information I give is just the knowledge that I have. Please do your own research as well.

There are some applications that let you 'un-delete' files, as long as the disk area that the file resided on has not been overwritten. My advice would be to use your computer as little as possible until you attempt to undelete it. For instance: download the undelete software at work so you don't have to use your home PC. Also, if possible do not download the undelete software to the same drive you want to restore the deleted data from.

Here's the Google search for Undelete (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=undelete&btnG=Google+Search)

There's several programs that allow you to recover said movie, don't know of any offhand. In the meantime, DON'T install anything, or else you may overwrite the harddrive clusters that contain your data.

[Edit: BTW, avoid using the internet on said computer as much as possible, I'd imagine cookies could expand to fill the empty space. You can probably stop your computer by doing this, however, by reducing the size of the cached internet files folder.]

yeah, i'm pretty sure deleted files are still saved on the hard drive. like the guys above said, programs can do it, or you can also get a proffessional, "data restorer" to get it back

good luck, dude, sorry to hear about that :(
