Will this game really be... a team game? i mean on other or all! team games every1 either goes thier own way or evry12 forms squads and turns into roving bands and the "empire" is in hands of gusy who can't even get organized! so let's make it the best game by only ... PLAYING LIKE A TEAM!

You've never played or seen DAoC, have you?

People band togeather in very large groups because its the way they can survie and kill more. Even the the Training battle-grounds the people stick togeather because otherwise you get gang-raped.

People will play in teams because if they don't nothing will ever happen and when anyone who's lone wolfing tries to fight they'll get raped by the outfits and squads that are on their way to an attack or defense or "what have you"...

Everyone has pretty much agreed that there will be a good amount of "lone wolfing" at the beginning of this game but when people realize that they're just going to get owned badly they'll wise up and join a squad/outfit.

I think they'll be alot of outfit-less people who wil jsut join squads for specific things too and leave them right after..

I'm going to be outfit-less until I see a commander in action that earns my respect, is good at leading, and has a need for me in his outfit. I do worry that pick-up groups (which by neccesity I have to play with until I find a good outfit) will be much less responsible and will tend to fracture easily.

If Tribes is any example, to be a member of a good group will enhance the play experience by a magnitude.

I'm hoping that I get accepted for beta, and find a good commander before retail though ;)

I can't see that all of these clans are going to have enough people all of the time. It's tough to get people to join up, and show up. Some of these guys make you submit a job application and show up for work. I understand you have to practice and become part of the team, but unless those guys are willing to saddle up with another clan then they will be in trouble. I think that the l33t clans who think there so great, will take one hell of a step down when they get owned by a few clans joined together. I'm gonna hang out with any BOHICA guys I can find and I'll invite people I know (from here or the game) to join my squad. I'd rather win than be an elitest.

I'll be the lone galaxy pilot. I'll fly around and when people need a ride I'll fly really low and run them over

I wanna join up with people interested in winning. Going lone wulf won't make you win. You have to develop strategies and attack in planned groups to win.

Frabaktos we're hoping everyone else will realize that right off the bat but if not, people will eventually realize it.:D

well this game is supposed to be for team play. the developers said they made it so people can't go off on their own and get like 10 kills instead they would probably get killed instead.

Well, hopefully, after retail probably, I can start an outfit that is simply based around getting lots of people coordinated in assaults no matter their skill levels. I figure that anyone willing to buy the game and then pay for has to have somw level of competency, and they probably will quickly realize that a large team will own everyone else.

I was planning on starting an outfit soon after PS is released or at least pretty close to the release. It's pretty pointless right now to at least have chosen positions because you know that people are going to be switching positions because it wasn't like they thought it would be.

 What i maent was that sure there will be "lone wolfs" and squads but when i siad organization... i meant will squads combine to be platoons or companies to take out continets rather than squad vs squad combat. i mean if u have a squad of 10 and ur planning to take a base ur not goign to have a chance. your goign to need to build up guys and guns. squads are ok for patrols and Ops. but for battles u need men and alot. if u've ever played a strat. game u know that a few men an dtanks wont make u win even if u have the tech and the weps. :nono:

Basicly what i am saying is that continets, bases and etc. will be won by bigger than platoon size armies, not squad bassed fights, i mean we might as well be playin tribes and everquest then.:flamemad:

I dont think this will be a problem personally. But who knows ;) There are more benifits to linking and launching major attacks than there are going lone wolf.

If I become part of a squad It'll likly be on the fly and I intend to later on become a commander that dosn't own an outfit but just recruits on the fly for specific tasks.

That said I don't think just using a squad to take a building is that unlikly. Consider that, unlike strategy games and other FPS where theres only one or a few objectives, ( as far as locations go), compared to PS which will literally have dozens to possibly hundreds of bases. So its likly that some base that isn't getting alot of activety will be the focuse for single squads and hotzones where theres alot of conflict at that moment will be the location that larger outfits will be gravitated towards.

However even that single squad that atempts to take a base won't have alot of sucesses on any long term since once the hacking has occured and the 15 minute count down begins the opposition will likly focuse in on that location so that single squad will ultimetly be reliing on others to back them up once they see the news.

On tiny maps it's ok to go "lonewolf." But in my experience in playing WWIIOL it accomplishes absolutely nothing on larger "worlds."

Every once in a while I would wonder off with my M1, hide behind some bushes for a while and see if I could pick off some Axis scum. But it always ended 2 ways:

A. You get seen first while in the bushes within the first 5 minutes (after you have spent 45 minutes walking to your destination) without killing even one opposing player. You have to respawn and gear up for the long walk again.

B. You get seen after the the first 5 minutes, you pick off one or two of the enemy all the while realizing it does absolutely NOTHING, because they will just respawn in a couple of minutes inside the town. You have to respawn and gear up for the long walk again.

Sniping can be fun by yourself if you are tired or frustrated, but have the patience to slowly make your way through the woods, but alot of time I have found, you spend 2 or 3 hours and end up with 2 or 3 kills, whereas if you took the opportunity to join-up with another squad you can get to your destiation more quickly, have the opportunity to gain kill a few enemies and even cap a base.

I think this will be the type of game where it's in your best interest to stick with a squad, especially with spawn restrictions.

People will band together. It's a given. And every lone wolf type player they come across -- sniper or otherwise -- will be decimated. And even if someone gets incapacitated, a Medic will Revive them, and they'll be off. Very few if any people will have fun as a lone player, because whether you're good or just another wannabe sniper, you're going to be outnumbered severely.
