After playing all the flyables, and being a sim fan, i've come to the conclusion that the pilots and navigator (where applicable) do not have enought POV access.
In Today's birds, like the A10 for exemple (which flys low), the pilot is required to look around all the time. Especially due to incoming IR missile launchs, which cannot be detected by RWR. (i won't go into details).
In the case of the Harrier and other Helicopters, the pilots need good periferal vision (POV) to look around at low speed, when carrier, droping or extracting someone or something. Also to land.
Unfortunatly, in FS, there are no such thing.
As it was in Operation Flashpoint for exemple, a special Key to be pressed to turn the 'Head' instead of the whole body, to look around, would be really appreciated in the game.
Since i'm in the Cockpit business (first person view), why isn't there a few gauge to tell proper Altitude and heading? I presume in the futur it would be even more sophisticated, and i'm sure even with an 'arcade' feel, it could be possible to add a little 'Altitude meter in 'numbers' instead of a wierd icon-like arrow that tells you how 'high' you are.
Any comments on this?

Theres away too see 3rd person veiw and make the cockpit dissapear. I know what u want man. I am an avid flight simmer. The game just isnt a sim. numbers for altimider would be cool.

Well for one, this isnt a real world flight sim...its a futuristic FPS where making sense isn't SOE's main goal. What would the point of an altitude indicator be neway? If you fly 2 high it will tell you lol. Also to look down just point your nose down and hold your key that makes u go up, u will stay at the same altitude and be able 2 look at the ground. How many planes do you know can hover in one place?
All in all don't expect to much 'flight sim' realism, If that were to happen, then what about all other vehicles? Wouldnt they also need special equipment readings in first person? I can kind of understand SOE's position on this and its just not worth it for them 2 put it into this type of game.

There is already a built in altitude meter. When in first person, the little thing next to your crosshairs tells you how high you are. The arrow is your position relative to the flight ceiling, and the bar next to it is the "meter" (bottom of meter is ground, top is ceiling)

well having a dad that was a nato pilot, Airship pilot and now sells aironautical raders worldwide, I know what you mean, but I have addapted to PS quite well.
With directoin and alittude, Directoin I use the minimap, that thing fully zoomed out is your best friend flying, and even very usefull at finding the enemy bogey during a dogfight.
The altitude, though its no the best that little level indicater in the centre of your hud works well enough.
Also a fully zoomed out 3rd person view allows you a much larger POV.
As with any piece of new equipment, adapt or die.

Wow I was looking at your sig, so kylia has I think I counted 32 but I only got 4 hours sleep last night and I'm to tired to count again. Lol 32 kills with a galaxy, almost makes me want to drop my sunderer for it, I just might. Sorry about that was off topic but hey I'm tired.
PS would be even better if they put in evasive manuevers for aircraft, and put in maybe some impossible stunts that could not be preformed today (since this is a game and it's supposed to be in the future). This would make flying alot better and would make the better pilot in a dog fight the winner.

i want to be able to make the nose go all the way up... wtf is wrong with a barrel rolling a galaxy or doing loop-de-loops in a reaver..?

Thats of ones I was able to take pics of, ;)
I do agree being more agile would be great, of course they would also have to change the antiair weapons to suit, because adding an extra to an offence but not adding the defence would effect directly the gameplay.
