OMG :D swet love the lazing of the target for the Flail :D all those wannabe CR4/5's can now rain down death on AMS'

Jeez AMS's may have a little trouble now, OS's and Flails :D

the switchblade looks like it will be good to operate as a deployed turret :)

Router:
A soldier can take the Telepad to a location (inside or outside), and deploy it to create a connection then exists between the ROUTER and that Telepad, thus creating a point-to-point teleportation system.

This vehicle scares me. They can put a telepad inside... making defense even tougher than it already is. :(

Router outside a tower or near an AMS... telepad inside the base... game over.

I wonder if we'll see any more free content before Core Combat, or if it'll all be postponed till the expansion.

my only thing that i belive could turn into a problem is the newly added LLU and the router......two things that should not be mixed....put a router where you get the LLU and then put one where the cap point is..

LOOK HERE

Did I get anyones attention...? On of the reasons for these boards is that people dont like going to sony site or re unable to go there, as such it is common courtesy that if you are going to post a topic, that you post the entire topic in here, instead of "Expecting" people to go to a link that may or maynot work for them.

So as common courtesy will someone pleae post the information in here.

(and yes My workplace blocks all sony sites, so im not lazy just cant get there (though PSU is better than the OF's ))

FLAIL
Source: Ancient-Tech
Type: Heavy Artillery
Role: Attack, Defense
Primary Weapon: Dispersion Cannon
Occupants: 1
Handling: Poor
Certifications Needed: Mobile Artillery*

The FLAIL is a massive hover tank that cannot fire at all unless deployed. However, once deployed, its massive Dispersion Cannon can fling devastating energy projectiles long distances with indirect fire. Because it can shoot farther than it can see (obstacles often intervene to prevent direct line of sight), soldiers can access a terminal on the back of the Flail to get a Laze Pointer. This item is equipped like a pistol and can be used to provide forward observation information to the Flail gunner. This helps point out targets for annhilation from a remote location .

SWITCHBLADE
Source: Ancient-Tech
Type: Rapid assault
Role: Rapid response, Escort
Primary Weapon: Scythe cannon
Occupants: 1
Handling: Ultra nimble
Certifications Needed: ATV

The SWITCHBLADE has a forward-firing Scythe Cannon that fires "V"-shaped wedges of energy at a rapid speed. The vehicle can be deployed, however, in much the same manner as a Terran Republic MAX, vastly increasing the rate of fire of the Scythe cannon and allowing this light vehicle to pour forth destructive power.

ROUTER
Source: Ancient-Tech
Type: Deployable Point-to-Point Teleporter
Role: Tactical
Primary Weapon: None
Occupants: 1
Handling: Very poor
Certifications Needed: Tactical Support*

This ponderous vehicle can be deployed in the same manner as an AMS. Once deployed, a station becomes operational on the back allowing access to a deployable Telepad. A soldier can take the Telepad to a location (inside or outside), and deploy it to create a connection then exists between the ROUTER and that Telepad, thus creating a point-to-point teleportation system. NOTE: This is not an IFF system. In other words, your enemies can use it also. Be wise in your placement.

* The "Tactical Support" and "Mobile Artillery" vehicle certifications are not available until Core Combat is released.

Yep, no bombers too. They don't like spam weapons. I was glad about that. BF sucks because of spam weapons

Well i think the new vehixs are sweet as crap. But of course everyone has to be wishing they just added them to free downloads.....

But that artillery thing i can imagine being very interesting. Stealthers with that pistol calling in bombing on the AMS or vehic term. Thatd be bastardly!!! But i think its cool that they linked the AMS and the new Teleporter vehicle, and the factit works both ways. Lets say that they deploy it from their spawn room to your CC. All you have to do is go through and blow it and there new toy leaves them floundering. Im sure that alot of tactics will shift to this teleporting in. And this could hurt them just as much if organising a defense accordingly.

But there is no IFF on the router, so if defense goes through the tele, they come out at the AMS/router, and can blow it with impunity.

uggg
man this is gonna be scarey
a infil/hacker sneaks into enemy CC and puts the telepad down
a bunch of maxes, engineers and maybe a few infantry come through
the telepad is then destroyed or whatever u can do to it
ug there goes our hopes unless the defenders rush in there to secure the CC with tactical handheld nukes

I can't wait to be an arty spotter, you have no idea. The fact that they're bundling the AMS with the router will make me pick up the cert when it's released.

VERY nice. Kinda weird that the switch can lock down, but, blech. Lol.

I can't wait for this new ATV. I think that would be sweet. 3 atv's for 2 cert points. They are pretty DAMN USELESS now.
I'mma thinking Artillery is going to make thinks pretty messy. I guess that's what they want. Now, if they could just make a rocket tank for me to drive, that would be plenty nice.

Why do u think they made they atv cert 3 at first :P The same reason they put the llu in. Im sure once the switchblade is added it will get moved back to 3 certs

Yeah, but still, 3 certs for 4 vehicles is still pretty sweet. And you might say 4? What's the fourth? ANT, of course. Unless they change that.

All of the vehicles look cool. I can't wait for the Router cause of the teleport thing. Sounds really cool and if you can get stuff from it like the AMS then we'll probably see more Routers then AMS in the battlefield once Core Combat comes out.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that these new vechicals will only by avalible from the underground cavern bases....

Which means things like artillitry, which would be most effective over ground, will be hard to move... plus you have to take into account that aircraft wont have much of a role to play in these caverns ( a galaxy flying around down there!!!? ), so no quick transport and aircraft cert suddently become ussless down there.

But i guess we will have to wait and see what the caverns look like and how big they will be....

Stick the router under an AMS bubble surrounded by spitfires and a few AI maxes. Attack when u want and watch them get waxed as they come through. Acctualy can u deploy AMS in a warp bubble? b/c if there is no range just deploy the AMS and the Router i nthe warp bubble. Place the Warp either inside the base if u can or out side the base. If hteres no range on the router u could get a cloaker to literly take a Wraith across the whole continent and set down a router. Attack from behind and its all over.

I'm guessing that this is going to be one of the first things to change.

I hope this expansion is enough to bring me back... but seeing as the original only kept me interested for about 2 months, I'm not holding my breath.

It looks like the telepad is something a soldier can carry. I imagine they won't make it so an infil can carry it. Probably something rifle sized. Having an infil sneak into a base and deploy it would make it pretty damn powerful.

Another thing is what if you kill someone carrying the telepad? Can you then deploy it yourself and use it to rush back to the source router?

The power of the artillery vehicle is going to rely heavily on its targetting. Hopefully it will a targetting system specific to artillery.

Ohh wow I'm so going to have to get this expansion. I wonder if the spawn capsule thing is lootable. I could see this turning a would be attacking force getting routed to the front of a Prowler turret and other nasty surprises hehe.

I hope they bring some kind of artillary to the non-CC players.

I don't particularly care to get the expansion, but I *really* crave artillary.

The SwithBlade is "ultra Nimble" and it can hover right? Has anybody realized what this could mean? We TR and NC troops have enough trouble dealing with with magriders running us over all the freaken time but add ultra nimble hover vehicle we would have big trouble. PLUS being it an ATV it will be a big bargain to get it and a couple other vehicles EVERY FREAKEN person is gonna have it to run over people(thats if the get the module). :)

artillery are cool, but require to much effort,
1-u need a spotter
2-communication is esscential
3-there slow to deplot/undeploy
4-wouldnt it be cool to line 10 of them up and start firing to try and hit a base that over hte next hill? like seiriuosly, wouldnt it be scary to have 10 things of energy raining down on u?

but the shear power of those artillery batteries will be amazing. at least until me and my 5 ACEs so up unseen. :D

ATVs don't have the armor to act as mowers ;)

hmm you might be right but if it deployes it has to have good armor like that of an Enforcer or there is no reason to deploy it or it would be destoyed. I have seen Atvs run over about 3 or 5 guys in a row and live and this thing is alot bigger and has good armor so i say it could be a good mower.

The Router seems like a defense buster, but think of it as a zerg motel. Drop the telepad in a Pain Module zone, spray the area with RAID (er I mean Radiator) and you've got dozens of curious zerglings appearing in a world of hurt. I can't wait to see the ingenious uses this is put to. Maybe dropping them in an area overlooked by a couple Flails? Splat.

It just got a lot tougher to be a bug.

I really hope they add more than that to the expansion....it really doesnt seem worth it when I could have downloaded all that in 5minutes on my cable modem for the $13 a month I've already been paying.

Perhaps they can add a whole new arsenal to that with like jetpacks, laser cannons, flying pigs and a crack whore. Then it may be worth the money, but not for the content they have in it now.
