View Full Version : Any unwanted PS keys out there?

Got the 7day trial a couple weeks ago and liked the game alot. So, I went out and purchased the game card so I can play it some more.....Now I'm the retard stuck with the card and can't use it since I don't have the boxed version for the CDkey. I would buy (and prolly will if I can't find someone with an unwanted CDKey) the boxed version eventually, but cash is very tight right now. It would prolly be a month or more before I have extra money again.
Thanks for any help.

Get a refund on the card. I doubt anyone in there right mind would give the key for the full retail version. Not for free at least

It completely amazes me that people continually ask for free keys in chat and on forums.

Yeah, I know it's kinda a long shot, but I thought why not ask. Maybe, theres someone out there with the boxed version that is not going to pay to play the game anymore. Or someone that has a friend that isn't going to pay to play anymore. <shrug> prolly see you all ingame next month sometime :P
P.S. I opened the gamecard and tried using that code thinking it would work. SO, I doubt returning it is an option at this point.

I dont think you can reuse codes once they have been assigned to a station account. You would probably have to find someone who has bought the game, never used it, and doesnt mind giving it away...

After a key is used on an account you can not resuse the key, just like CaptainBirdseye said...
So the OP is asking for an unopened box of Planetside... Basically $50 for free...
Since I do not know where you live, I will just give you my credit card number and expiration, please only buy Planetside, not a new car...

No offence tical but this sounds a little to fishy (excuse the pun) to me...
U sure u wernt just reusing 7 day trials and want some more cos they stopped the trials!?!?!??
Ignore me if im wrong but its almost a bizarre request for a retail key.

Maybe I worded it wrong in the post title, but I'm not looking for a free unused version. Or a shopping spree...thanks for the CC number ;) I'm looking for someone that has played the game and has decided it is not worth their money to continue to pay to play. I have the game card to pay to play, but didn't realise I still needed a CDkey to activate an acount. I was thinking "I have the full version on my system from the 7day trial, all I have to do is plug in the numbers on the game card and I should be good to go for 3 months" Although, the being tied to a station account thing never really crossed my mind either.....Is it still possible to get a key to activate it and the station account info without getting payment info of the prior owner?
Yes, its a very long shot that I'll come across anyone NOT playing the game anymore on a planetside forum, but why not give it a shot instead of waiting around for a month or so til I buy the full version?
NO, I didn't even know you could reuse the 7day trial. That's kinda dumb to allow a free trial to be abused for a pay to play game. You'd think that would be the main exploit they'd make sure wasn't possible to do when DL'n a trial version.

Thats one of the reasons SOE stopped the trials.
Anyone who bought the key will have activated it with there account.
Yes you can remove/change the payment methods.
So you would need someone to give you there SOE account that has planetside access attached to it. I presume they would have to cancel payment before giving you the username and password of the account. Then you would have to add your own payment details.
Long shot indeed.

Uh, I'm not sure, but I think asking for Cd keys is not a good thing to do. According to the SOE contract you could be violating it. I could be wrong. But also, according to the SOE contract, they OWN your Cd key, and your rights to play. But hey, I could be wrong about that. That's just the gist of what i got from reading it. Thing is, SOE isn't going to revoke a person's right to play, unless they do something REALLY bad. They want your money. As much of your money as they can get. As for CD keys, don't ask me. I'm pretty sure that everyone else is right, that a used CD key is attached to an account. Best thing to do dude? Save money, go buy your version of the game. Your Game card will still be good until then. Or should be.

Yeah but how the hell would SOE find out even if someone did him a key. Its next to impossible to trace. They seem to have enough problems monitoring the grief and appeal system let alone forums and who is using what key and whatnot. It's definatly not supposed to be done because the software is only "licensed" to the person who bought the game and in this case that wouldnt be tical but they aint gonna know. And even if they did its pretty hard to trace.

Assuming no-one has gone out and bought the game only to decide not to play it, I don't think you're ever gonna find an unwanted CD key. As you've said, your only chance may be someone who doesn't play anymore and is willing to basically give you their station account details.
Whilst in violation of the EULA, I can't imagine Sony being too hot on catching suspects. People sell Everquest accounts (SoE game also) for $1000+ and no-one seems to be doing anything about that (just look at playerauctions.com).
Your best route is going to be to find a recently expired account from someone who doesn't wanna play anymore and apply your gamecard as the new payment method against that account. This ain't like EQ, no money is gonna be changing hands, I can't see you getting put in jail for it.

Are you kidding??? SOE knows when you respawn and take two steps. They know if you take another player's vehicle. If there were bathrooms in this game, they would know when you took a shit. This is from SOE personally. My friend was a ANT jacker, and the people from SOE gave him shit, because they got +10 appeals on his behavior. They knew everything he had done.

Ahhh but if people hadnt appealed would he have been busted!!! thats the question. Unless someone specifically goes and tells them i question whether they would do anything at all, except in extreme and v important circumstances i.e. hacks patches etc..
