Couple of nights ago, i saw a very strange thing. I saw one of my own NC players, with a TR chain gun....
I did not think this was possible ????!!!
I asked him how he got it, but he was a bit vague, somthing about stealing it.....
Is this possible or has this guy hacked the game ???.
(i have a screenshot if thou disbeliveth me!)

Errr, this is a simple game mechanic. Go up to corpses after you kill a guy sometime. You have to have the equivalent cert.

What sputty said....
If you have Heavy assault certification, then if you loot the backpack of someone you kill you can use their heavy assault weapon. (if they have a heavy assault weapon). You must have the same certification as whatever weapon you are trying to use.
Example
Heavy assault: Chain gun, Lasher, Jackhammer
Anti Vehicle: Striker, Phoenix, err do the VS have a AV weapon? Oh yea the lancer (TR and NC break out laughing at the VS AV weapon).
Anyway you get the point. If you have one cert you can "steal" the same cert weapon from enemies who have fallen.

But I like the Lancer. It's a sniping dream. I like all the AV weapon, the Phoenix the most

Yeah, the lancer is good at sniping, and at Anti Vehicle. I've taken many soldiers and Maxes at long long range with the Lancer.

you do not need the cert of any weapon to loot them, you just can not use them unless you have the Cert for the weapon.
so if any squad mates have the cert you can loot for them as well, me locker is stocked full of some weapons I can not use, but tehy are there for my buds if they want 'em ;)

Personally, I think killing someone with a looted weapon of their own empire is the ultimate in humiliation.
I can only imagine the Ph3ar that a Reaver pilot feels when they hear the lock-on tone :)

I've found that having a good locker loudout is very important for a grunt that doesnt have Adv Hacking. I keep a plentiful supply of Jackhammers and MCGs(weapons that I have ammo for in my "spawn suit" so all I have to do is swap it with my suppressor and move out). Also, I keep several decimators(for those CC camping maxes) and some med guns in there too.

Wise man say better to spend more time actualy playing the game then working on sigs, otherwise you whouldnt be asking this question.
I'm sorry if this seems harsh but how could you have missed all the corpses I know they despawn faster but still it couldnt have been the only guy you've seen doing this.
It's possible when you kill an enemy you'll see there body disapper and a little backpack remain go up to the backpack and press g you'll see how to steal weapons when you do this.

Shame your not that wise then!. I work during the day, which is when im on these forums (and did my sig), but when im home i play if i have time.... Or would you like more information on my personal life!!??? geeeezzzzz.....
No, i have not missed all those backpacks, and have looted in times of desparate ammo need from NC backpacks, but it never occured to me that you could loot enemy backpacks, equip with enemy weapons and actually use them!.
Its the first time ive seen a NC with enemy weapons as well, and ive been playing for a while....

ph3ar teh b3amer
I love looting beamers off dead vanu snipers, only to wait a little ways off for them to return...then buring the beamer in their back.

The only thing the beamer is good for is cooking pop corn, and killing time during a hack.

I use the Terran Assault Rifle whenever possible cause it rocks, A: Fires a ton of bullets in the general direction. B: It is more accurate than the Gauss Rifle, and as i dont have a sniper cert yet, im sniping with rifles which is very rewarding if u kill anything :)
Plus there is a humiliation factor in taking out enemys with there own weapons like someone said.
The vs weapons are all phyrotechnics.

Loot a corpse and if you have the same cert you can use the weapon

Well, as a further point, last couple of nights ive grabbed the VS's Lasher (cos every VS grunt seems to carry one), and OH MY GOD!!!!, is so easy to kill people with it!!!!.
It requires very little accuracy, you just round a corner and empty your clip down the corridor and : hey presto!!!, you've wiped a whole outfit out!!!.
I liked it so much, i still have not bothered to try out the TR chain gun in my locker!!!.
Im sorry all you Vanubians out there, but you've got it easy!!!.

Well, yes and no. See, the lasher kinda sucks medium to long range, as it's a spray and pray weapon. Pretty hard to hit moving things at those ranges. I'm not saying it's a bad weapon. It's like the JH. Meant for indoors and close ranges. I think the MCG is sweet because it's a direct fire weapon, so it can be used effectively at any range. Thought it probably loses damage the farther away from the target it is.
I use AV lots. I love sniping with the Lancer. Especially MAX's, but infantry too. 2 or 3 shots to a grunt knocks them flat. The only drawback is that you have to zoom all the way in to get a good lock, which leaves you wide open from the sides and back. But it's just like the sniper rifle in that. See, I like the Lancer better than the bolt thrower because I don't have to wait for my cross hairs to shrink. I just zoom in, aim, fire, fire, fire.
But I LOVE the Striker. I'm collecting them. Pheonix is okay. I don't mind the guided mode. I accidently killed one of my own with it. I was guiding it, and I saw movement to my left and moved to it, and before I realized he was my side, I hit him, killing him. He wasn't too pleased. :D

lol so many ppl complain about the Jackhammer but the lasher seems better (or worse if your a NC or TR)

Another idea is to store a few of your own empires weapons in the locker. Also if you have engineering, make sure you have a full glue gun stored too.

Yup, having a glue gun, or even a few in your locker is very important, especially when your at a tower, and all the terms are broken, due to massive firefights, or enemy harassment. Just pop open locker, equip, fix, fill glue gun back up, and replace in locker. Also, have a armor repair gun or 2 in there as well. Makes for easy grab when the terms are filled with people, or that 10 second gap when you can't seem to access a terminal that you should be able to.
