you all know what im talking about ... Latly ive been seeing ams driving around tryin to run people over instead of doing what its meant to do .. and really its just pissin me off U cant kill them because they are so damn strong and they just go repair it and do it all over again... Just my little rant i think they should fix it somehow Make it weak when not deployed or some bullshit because its getting bad

I think spork said something about this in the OF... something about across the board looking at the "Carmegedon" feel of the game.

But to be honest, I've done this... ;)

Nothign short of as Orbital takes out an AMS fast, so it's a great mower... just a pain in the butt to get up to speed :)

I love these guys. I'm usually in my lightning when they come cruisin by and it makes for some great chases. It only takes about 1 and 1/2 magazines of 75MM cannon rounds to take them out. It's a lot of fun shooting them on the run. I've lost track of the number of AMSs I've hunted down this way.

Yeah, the mag has the hit box and the stafe, BUT when you hit a max, or infantry with the AMS it does NO damage. You dont even hear the driver go " UHHGGG"

I was on Forseral in my AMS driving across the open field north of Anu, and the NC were zerging the base, so I plow across the open field and got 57 kills and only took 1/4 damage.

The madness has to end.

You might get it.

I'd wager that the reason for the AMS's mega armor is due to the fact that it's basically a support vehicle. Cept for running over people, it has no offensive capability at all. It's been posted to make the AMS more fragile unless it's deployed. This is not the answer, nor is it a good idea.

Sure, getting run over is a pain in the Ass. But hey, it should be a lesson not to run around in a battle field setting without vehicle support. The only aspect of being run over that I agree should be addressed is, when standing behind a tree, a rock or around a corner and you get pasted. This is irritating to the say the least.

A better solution than increasing the vulnerabiltiy may bee to make the thing slower or more noisy, or both. Give some time and warning so folks have a better chance of getting out of the way.

I think it's fine the way it is. I mean...c'mon. A vehicle like that is going to be heavily armored. Only an idiot would make an AMS with no armor. Secondly, a vehicle that large and heavy is definately going to kill somebody if it runs them down. Leave the AMS the way it is. Get your own vehicle and blow it to pieces. I love chasing them in my reaver.

I can't believe that I am hearing a Vanu complaing about the misuse of vehicle to run people over! I have three words for you:

Magmower
Magmower
Magmower

Every other Vanu has a cert for one and drives around with no gunner...just running people over. And if it's not the magrider, you are spamming people with the lasher...what other weapon can shoot through a wall and kill you?

And please don't complain that they "nerfed" the lasher...cuz it sure doesn't seam like it from the receiving end!

I hate to say this...but it's a little hard to feel sorry for you.

getting sick of misuse of Mobil stations?
No, but then I don't put myself in the position to be run over.

I know what I am getting sick of though:
Yeah, the mag has the hit box and the strafe,
There is nothing wrong with the Magrider's hitbox. There has never been an issue with the Magrider's hitbox and, unless the Devs fubar something, there will never be an issue with the Magrider's hitbox. It's a laggy driver. It's always been laggy drivers. Thank you, please drive through.

I'm new so I don't want to start a big arguement, but how do you know that the AMSs that are mowing you down aren't on their way to doing their job? Like finding a strategic location for their AMS.

Why the hell has this turned into a magrider/lasher thread???

Yes, the magrider can mow people down by floating about in the middle of a battle, but its a TANK. It's SUPPOSED to be at the front lines. An AMS is not.

Decreasing the AMSs armor when undeployed would definately be a good thing.

I don't think it's a needed change. If there were hundreds of people in every battle mowing people down like a wheat thresher I'd see your point, but that isn't the case.

for the fact the guy has been around for 5 min a base doing runs .. and about the vehicle support we all know sometimes u cant do anything about gettin support to the front lines.. besides how long would it last right next to a base. Im not talkin about out in the middles of the desert.

U guys with the mag please stfu .. This thread has nothin to do with a mag. and i can assure u i dont have a mag cert(i was once tr you know:D )

O and the lasher .. Do u know what the best thing is to see. A nc or tr loot it and think they own but the orbs are 5 feet behind us "n00b vanus"

yeah I got the AMS cert, but for the reason it was meant to be used, but once to the target, there was another, I saw a AMS many times up close and under it, thought what the heck time for payback, since I can not deploy the AMS time to turn this puppy into a Johndeere, and damn I was racking up the kills. I only Mow when I can not deploy, sheet it's the bes weappon against infratry, so why not use what ya got, how about those times when another AMS blocks the equiment panel to your AMS, it really sucks if it's your equiment panel, and all you have is standard issue.
In war you use what you can to win.
