I was just wonderin how everbody viewed the terran republic and the other empires. Cuz so far all ive heard about is that the terran repbublic are nazis, the vanus are crazy techno elitist scientists, and that the nc are "freedom fighters"

I said Communist. Their doctrine and colors are communist colors. People call them Nazis. They are not Nazis. Nazi's were run by ONE man. A Facist. Terrans are run by, I believe, a government, intent on seeing themselves as the good. Every empire is the same. They see themselves as the good, and the others as the bad. *Shrugs* I sure everyone who is playing is playing their empire because it's what they believe. NOT. They are playing their empire because they like the weaponry. I play Vanu because I LIKE being the underdog, not because I think the TR are evil, communist, or Nazi's. And on that note, WHO GIVES A SHIT? I mean, really. Who really cares who is who. Your not playing them because of WHO they are. Your playing them because you like their weapons, vehicles, or because you think they have the best chance to win, or get you more experiance. PLEASE, give us a break from these "Empire Views"?

Why, then, did I vote? Because when I make a poll, I want people's honest opinions. I give the same consideration to everyone else.

I'm actually gonna refuse to vote in this poll, cos of the main problem with it...

If anyone actually believes that ANY of the empires are these things, then surely that means that when they started playing they chose the empire which is closest to their personal ideology (ie: those that chose TR are... let's say highly conservative, those who chose Vanu are technocrats, and those who chose NC are dissidents)...

This just freaks the hell out of me, as i don't really expect to go into a game full of REALLY politically minding people who actually believe the game they are playing has that much meaning.

Personally, i joined NC cos loads of my mates who have the game play as NC, and that's how i've tried to play the game, as a huge FPS, where you jump in and fight people with your mates..

It's meant to be fun!!

Actually, the VS reinforced armor looks more like a gas mask, imo. The TR just have those goggle things.

I really don't know why people assigned those ideas to the different factions. I still believe everybody is a bad guy, including me and my faction. I'm not fighting for the side of good or right. I'm fighting because I have a gun and it goes boom.

well...the TR colors ARE red and black...last time I checked, doesnt that bare a striking resemblense to the USSR? The TR definately are NOT fighting to ensure a peaceful government. thats why I like the way the designers made the empires, they have negatives but also positives..

btw, the term "Nazi" isnt politically correct. The "Nazis" were a political party that controlled Germany from 1936-1945. Not all German troops swore their alligence to the Nazi party, but rather the Germany government. Theres a german word for that though...I forget it its kinda long...:D
