Starting a new infil char, need to know the first certs go grab (four original pts + the two in VR).
Which two should I get first, I was thinking of getting infil+adv hacking and throwing a MAX in the mix, so I could ninja-hack the base, hack an equip term, and jump in the MAX to defend the cc.
Any suggs?

You have to get hacking to get adv hacking, so that's 7 certs right there. That's how I started my infil, although I'm not positive it was the absolute best way to go. It does make you more valuable in many squads which is the reason I went that way. It is a lot of fun to sneak into 'secure' areas with an equip term, hack it and suddenly there's a MAX standing behind people. The Pounder inside a camped spawn with everybody's backs turned is all sorts of fun.

Well, it's quite hard to start an infil, simply because you don't really have enough cert points.
To start with try infil + medic (5, leaves you 1 spare after VR). If you're TR the Repeater is fantastic (sit on the roof of a base and snipe people).
That will allow you to kill people and get the feel of an infil while you wait for enough points to do something 'better'.
Yeah, adv. hack + max with infil is great, mosq is also useful (far better than wraith imo).
My main char is pretty much dedicated infil (no weapons certs), it allows you a lot of points for skills/vehicles (if you use MAX units as your 'big guns').

I went with Infil/hack then capped a couple bases so I could get the last point for adv hack.
You will be quite a frustrated infil, if you cant hack. Hacking terminals is a must and every second counts at the CC. I cant even count the number of times I have flipped a tower under fire only to die right as the hack goes through, causing in turn for our forces to spawn there securing the tower for good.
Next you will need some sort of vehicle. I recommend the AMS when you get 2 points as it allows 2 things. 1) Unfortunatly it is a sad fact that AMSs are basically magriders w/out guns, so when in Rome, use it like one. Also you have the added benifit of placing AMSs when and where you need one and also having transportation. 2) Finally, it will also give you the ability to undeploy and steal an enemy AMS after you hack it.. very nasty indeed
When you get your 3rd point its time to get something a bit better. Trade the AMS for a Mossy. This will give you the ability to ninja hack anytime you want as well as a superfast upgraded transportation mode. The gun sucks but with lots of practice you can get insanely effective with it
After this, it becomes a matter of taste. Most upgrade to a Reaver when they get thier next point, but I chose not to do so, because whenever I am in a reaver, it seems a waste to not be hunting tanks and such. The Mossy is much better alinged with the spirit of infiltration, because it uncovers enemy infils for counter infiltration hunting. Also you can focus on infil/hacking instead of being sidetracked on dogfighting and such. I consider Combat Engineering a must after your Mossy/Reaver. Engeneering lets you repair your mossy reaver as well as tubes/terms before or after a base hack and the upgraded CE gives you fearsome Infiltration powers.
Maxes are totally off limits untill you get CE for obvious reasons. nothing in PS is more enjoyable to me than a Cat and Mouse game of "blow up the guarding MAX with a boomer game"
After CE the sky is the limit. You might want to purchase the AMS again for overall flexability and/or grab a MAX suit for spawn tube camping

I also heartily endorse getting the medium tank cert at some point after advanced hacking. Jacking somebody's tank and running them over with it is a joy that not even the AMS jacking can touch. If you're NC/TR it's much easier to jack a Magrider than other tanks because of the tendency to go without a gunner. Wait for the tank to leave a battlefield, surge off after it and jack it while the guy is trying to repair it. Or kill him and then jack it. Both bring lots of satisfaction.

I'd be inclined to say that infils should never get reaver instead of mosq (as well as fine, just not instead of), since having mosq guarantees you a fast, air based way out of any enemy base (and you don't get shot by the turrets).
I also think CE for infils is over-rated. You need at least 2 ACEs to be useful against a MAX, and at that point, you're running out of inv space (2 ACEs, Med Applicator (an infil must imo), jammer grenade, REK and that's it, no gun).
And without a gun (even with melee booster), you're going to get ripped apart a lot of times.

I did a infiltraion character once, damn that was fun, but mine was just for mining, many a times I wish I had Adv hack, but I really enjoyed having the CE cert. The role I was playing was just mining their entrance, I added the AMS as soon as I could.
later I was getting bored being infil. so I traded the cert points in from the Infil and got a MAX, being this is my VS character, which is the hardest for me to play, I get killed more times as a VS then any other, anyways.
just decide what role you want your infil char to perform, mine work like it was no guns just aces and a rek. I started out having a pistol, but later just got rid of it. I agree about the getting a ride. If I was to do it again, I would wait till I had enough cert points to have AH and CE then build the Infiltration Character, oh and a ride of some kind, ATV is better then nothing.
I wuld basicly do the same, just a invisable miner, but this time I'd be able to JACK, then after that just all the Vehicel certs I can get, just for jacking and getting away in their ride, which os now mine :p , but that's if I was to go infil again

Medical is a waste of certs for an infil IMO untill much later down the road, unless you want to heal other people of course. I never have any problems with my health bar since I either hack a term or just use the health packs off my victims.
CE does tend to get a bit overated for infil a bit, but it really does raise the bar significantly as to what you are capable of. Also some people really like the sabateur role that the infil can play. I personally like to have some countermeasure against MAXs and like to be able to setup towers after I hack them. Defenately wait till after getting advanced hacking before worrying about CE.
My typical loadout is:
Repeater
box of ammo
REK
2 ACEs
Some people go with the melee booster implant and dont carry a weapon at all. I personally dont like the time it takes to setup a knife kill, but the people that only use the knife can carry 4 boomers.

I suggest getting BR8 or so the untraining and becoming an Infil, you'll have enough cert points then.

The majority of the time you Boomer a MAX he drops dead. The times he doesn't normally leads to an awkward situation that really doesn't last all that long anyhow. At any rate, I think CE with an infil is absolutely great. You don't need a med applicator if you use advanced regen (which I do). It slows some battlefield situations down waiting for stamina to come back, but it's worth it for the extra inventory slot in my opinion.
Get used to favorites. Grenade favorites, pistol favorites, CE favorites, all with and without the REK (such a waste to have the REK use up one of your precious inventory slots). You will get into situations where you're better off not having an REK and just going in with weapons. An REK also happens to be the easiest item in the game to claim from an enemy backpack once you've used enough ammo to free up the space in your inventory.

Also when you boomer a MAX you freaked him out and made him easy to kill for the next guy, or your next boomer. Also often this leads him away from what he is guarding while trying to find and kill you.
