How does everyone think PS will turn out? What do you want/hope it to be?
give us *your* 2cents ;)
i hope its everything i expect it to be.
all i want is a game i can immerse myself in and play without getting bored in a week.

I wish all games I was really hyped about were that way... Then again, if they were, I wouldn't ever leave and be interested in PS. :D

I want it to be a game where I can meet and interact with unique and interesting people from many different beautiful and ancient cultures...
and then frag them. :D
Seriously though? I want it to be a game where everyone who plays will never end a gaming session without having had any fun.

I think that it will turn out really well unless: There is too much travelling and not enough action (like in Neocron Wastelands) Continents are too sparsely populated (like the Neocron Wastelands) You meet little resistance when taking an outpost (like in the Neocron Wastelands). Combat feels sloppy (like Battlefield can do on a laggy server) and kills aren't satisfying.I've been playing the new UT a lot recently (I'll hopefully bring back a little old Unreal Ed l337n355 to put a map together) and I'd just like combat in Planetside to feel quite similar to it (hopefully a little slower paced) ... possibly with the odd Counter-Strike-instant-death-shotgun-round-corner scenario.
I will be happy though when it turns out to be more than the standard fragfest, this is an MMO and if you can't build your own microcommunity in game then I won't be happy ;) Socialising will play be a large part in my Planetside so I'm especially looking forward to forming an outfit.
My 2 cents: Planetside is looking better and better all the time, right now it has more potential than any other game on the market and it should turn out just fine

Am I asking too much for it to live up to it's hype? Prolly, but I hope the game does provide us with a feeling of excitement when we are going for an objective. Or actually try to make plans to win, not just "Hey Kill Everyone!". :p Well, here is to hoping!

Here's my 2 cents........
I'm really looking forward to the constantly changing "Front Lines" of the battle, and how your Empires area of control won't be the same from Day to Day.
In the last few years I have (for the most part) been a CTF player in the various games I have played. It wasn't until just recently that I started playing other game types like "Infiltration" in SoF2, or "Conquest" in BF1942, and by comparison CTF seems a little stale to me now.
It's been a long time since I got an adrenaline rush playing CTF like the ones I get when your tickets are running low in BF1942, and you need to grab that last spawn point to keep your team in the game. I think Planetside will provide the same type of gaming rush, without ever having to load a new map. You either squash the enemy, and keep the facility, or you get 0wned, and go back to the drawing board.
Another aspect that I am looking forward to is that an Outfit can set up, and execute attacks on their own time frame, without having to coordinate with the other empires, giving them the element of surprise. Having played competitively in Tribes, Tribes 2, and SoF2 it will be refreshing to not have to worry about date and times when the enemy will be available to thwart your attacks. Can you imagine having to go through this:
Terrain Outfit: "Hi, we are challenging you for Production Center X, please pick a date and time you will be available to defend it"
Vanu Outfit: "We can defend on Thursday @ 8 EST, or Friday @ 9 EST"
TO: "Thursday and Friday are no good for us, how about Saturday?"
VO: "Sat is no good for us, How about we push it back until next week?"
Hell just typing that is going to give me nightmares for a week!
There are so many ground breaking aspects of this game that I am looking forward to that it would be hard for me to give you my 2 cents without turning it into a whole nickel.

The rush from capturing points and often the fierce defence put up is something I'd love to see in Planetside.

Seeing as I have no cents I can't give any (well I have an old 1 dollar note :D ).
I hope Planetside will live up to all the hype, and above all I hope it will strongly encourage teamplay. Not teamplay as in CS -> you must work together, but by giving people motives and rewards for teamwork.
