Does anyone keep getting those strange graphic glitches where there are these shards shooting everywhere preventing one from seeing anything? I'm running XP Pro SP1 with a ti 4200 (GeForce4 64M)

Is there something in settings either in the game or the card I can do to get past this?
It's really blowin' my high... Don't say get a better card because I am in about a week or so. Maybe a Radeon 9700 or the likes.

this game has potential but I'm ready to shitcan this buggy piece of crap....

Does it look as if everything on the screen randomly explodes and then the computer restarts? That happened to me a few months back. After this happened a second time, Windows gave me a message telling me I had a hardware failure. Truth be told, my video card was burnt, which lead to damage to my hard drive. PCSolutions told me that it was either a virus or power outage that caused the corruption, and in the end it was about $500 to replace the equipment and a little extra for service fees.

I guess the situation wasn't all that bad. I had to live without the benifits of a computer for about a week, but I got a larger hard drive and an upgraded video card than what I had before.

thanks for the post Ghost. No it's not like an explosion, althought you could describe them as that sort of pattern. And no, the computer does not restart. They move about with my movements. Well not exactly static, they are visible only when I turn my character in certain directions. It's hard to explain.

post some screenies so we can see what you are talking about

Any chance you could take a Print Screen next time it happens? (not sure it would show up in an in-game screenshot).

Back in beta, I used to get some kind of graphical corruption inside facilities where areas of the structure weren't rendered, often looking like black "shards" shooting accros the screen as I moved, at the time I was using a GeForce4 440mx-se (128mb) card.

I've only just returned to the game in the last week, but now armed with a Radeon 9800 Pro and haven't seen any graphical glitches at all, and have minimal frame rate drops with all graphics cranked right up!

So back to my point, if we're talking about the same glitch here, it was either fixed by me changing my gfx card to a Radeon or maybe what I was seeing was patched before I returned after beta.

uh your not overclocking are you? If the card gets too hot it does that sort of shiznit

No, I'm not overclocking at all. The processor on the vid card has it's own fan and heatsink. PS is very demanding on a system. Maybe it's just time for the Radeon 9700.

I'll try the screenshot though and post it. What directory does a screenie go to in PS anyhow?

Thanks for the help.

Before you shell out on a new grx card CHECK YOUR DRIVERS ARE UP TO DATE!!!!.

This really sounds like a driver issue, and ive seen it myself with some games. You may find that getting the latest driver for your card will correct this.

if not, but a new card :D

I'm running the following:
Athlon 1900+
XP Pro SP1
512 DDR Ram
Audigy Sound Card
ti 4200 (GeForce4 64 M Ram)
ADSL connection (635/135 actual speed)
DX 9.0b (the latest)
NVidia 45.23 driver (the latest)
In game Vid settings: Recommended

I would post a screenie but I am not allowed to post attachments. WTF is up with that anyhow?

I keep getting these distortions, and wall-like graphic glitches popping up. Along with these thick lines that come up from trees, the end of my weapon and the sides of buildings. As it stands, the game is unplayable. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be extrememy appreciative.

Get the image hosted somewhere then you can use this bit of code:

URL of your image here

You'll need to take out the "?" in the first tag, I had to use that so the boards wouldn't recognise it as an image.
