Hello.
Im forum newbie.

I have not a cool PC: Athlon 1200 Ge Force 2 and 256 RAM DDR...
well game runs ok...but sometimes when im enetering the door or just trying to jump from the door with gun my game starting to freeze for seconds and those seconds making me killed....i have nice certs(reaver, heavy assault, reinforced suit etc....BR13) but that prob is really annoying......
Maybe there is a way to increase performance and reduce quality of the game....
i love that game very much.....really....but that thing is making me sad....and as for PC upgrade...only in 3 month i can upgrade to serious gaming system....

Can anyone please help or advice me?

Thanks,
-CraZy

Check out these sites for some useful info on tweaking your system:

PCI Latency (http://www.geocities.com/phileosophos/tech/pcilatency.html)
Tweak3D (http://www.tweak3d.net)
Guru's of 3D (http://www.guru3d.com)

There was also a really great tweaking thread in the Tech Support forum of the Official Forums, but I can't find it now. It had optimal settings you can change in your PS machine.ini file.

A little extra RAM couldn't hurt either.
I know a site that sells it pretty cheap, here. Computer stuff! (http://www.tigerdirect.com)

What video settings are you running in game?

If you are trying to run the game with all the things like foliage and weather, then this will have a huge impact on your performance.

My PC is about the same as yours and I run with all options turned off with about 25% maximum view distance and I have no major problems playing.

i have 1 fan on CPU and 1 fan on whole PC and one more big fan on whole PC too....
btw i have no probs in running it...i mean that in large battles sometimes(maybe its texture loading period) im having huuuuge drop in FPS....also when im opening the door im having that.....but now with new machine.ini the door problem slowed down but still i cant get into big battles...

My setting are:
All low and off.
20% view distance
1024x768x16

just got MAX and cant use it :(

It will if it's better than your old video card. What did you have before?

Should help a bit. Although I have an ATI Radeon 9100 Pro 64mb and I still get really bad fps in battles. I'm gonna tweak it tonight as see if I can fix it.

Run a ScanDisk and a Disk Defragmenter also. That helps out performance considerably.

well but when you are in building and trying to open door it opens without freezing right? thats what i need.
im getting hacker certs now so im not worrying in 200+ fights....they are not so often...i need only normal gameplay in small 30-50 fight......

Actually, I am having the same trouble with the doors. I was under the impression that was a known issue with the game. I've noticed people mentioning it often in the other threads here. I guess it isn't uncommon for people to get gunned down while waiting for the door to wake up and open.

That affect you are seeing is not your computer freezing its your computer trying to load all the stuff outside because u might be able to see it, all the loading takes up all your RAM and then starts Paging on your hard drive. This makes your system appear to freeze for short periods of time, there is one cure, more RAM as fast as possible. alot of people in my outfit have started getting 1 GB of ram, they say the performance boost is amazing.

ive only got 512 MB DDR PC2100 RAM and suffer from this as well, need more ram.

RAM hm....
maybe 256+256 and new Video will solve my prob?

Yea but it will probbally still page, try 256 + 512 and a new video card, but id go for it and get a major upgrade and make sure your motherboard can support all the shiny new stuff, u may end up having to build a whole new PC.

Okay, seriously, get the latest drivers and defrag.
Okay, check it

AMD Athlon 1.2 Ghz
ATI 9100 Pro 64MB
384 MB SDRAM (dont' remember the mhz)
using the onboard sound card.
Medium graphics setting

I averaged 25 fps and dropped down to 5 anytime I got near trees or a building, then would go down to 1 or lock up if I got around enemies.

I updated the drivers, defragged and turned weather particles off.
Performance increased dramtically. I'm averaging 60 fps and it drops down to 5 minimum in large battles. In smaller battles it still slows down, but not so much that I can't fight.
I don't think I'm gonna have many problems when I get my new PC built.

you have same specs as me....
but i will play on LOW level with 40% visibility and Mesh Detail option.....
so i think thatb will be okay
i run the Speed Disk from Norton Utilites(like defrag) and reinstalled Detonaor 45.23

man....2 days till that card....my friend from PC store will sell it for me for low price....price is twice lower then in store :)
