i highly recommend WoW, it is going to be an excellent mmorpg

Yes, I'll be moving on too. I'm not sure if I'm going to renew my sub when it runs out. I only went for one month sub. I think I'll get Breed, when it comes out, and play that for a while. I REALLY want to become a good Dropship pilot. I tried in this game, and there's nothing to it. But it's SOOOO boring.

Yeah, PS was fun for a month..actually towards the end of beta I was already getting bored, but something possessed me to get the retail and play it a few weeks...

I am waiting for HW2 to come out, and as for subscription type game..I am currently subscribed to SWG but that's kinda getting boring as well. The only MMORPG I've ever played and never got bored was asherons call (not asherons call 2, the first one)

Maybe I'll go back to that, because WoW just isn't my thing.

lol WoW is quite similar to asherons call in the fact that its a mmorpg

with customizable characters unique items unique citys(larger as well) and its updated every month


ive only ever heard of homeworld2 tho im not sure if id be interested or not

WoW will have a rocky launch following lengthy delays in the release date. It will still be highly played and will turn into something great, but I'm telling you right now get ready for a launch that makes Planetside's look like polished crystal...

I always feel bad when people leave. Honestly, I can see their points when they compose their "It's been fun" messages and posts. You know what though...I would be willing to bet that all of those people whom have left were solo or pickup squad players. Playing with different schmucks every night, being stuck with various �noobs� and �asshats� day-in and day-out. If I were playing like that, which I started out in e-beta, I would have left along time ago.

You know why I'm still here? It's the same reason I'm the "noobie fanboi" on the official forums, defending the game against all the neisayers. I joined a strong outfit with like-minded guys who are just out to kickass and have fun. I've been with the same guys for the last 6 months, and I'll be there till the end. Sure there�s annoying bugs and slowdowns, but with the shear immensity of the game, I�ll accept those. I think all those doing a majority of the bitchin are from the hardcore FPS crowd and new to the world of the MMO. You need to accept what PS is...they simply don�t understand and appreciate what it is they are playing.

I think the key to finding worthwhile game-play and longevity in this game is getting into a good outfit. Playing with the same bunch of guys everyday is great. We make extensive use of TeamSpeak, which I find indispensable. It really adds a certain social aspect to the game when you know everyone�s voice, and you move and react to his or her request or cries for help. You really learn each others strengths and weaknesses, and learn how to take advantage of those.

Additionally, I�ve found tremendous value in have a couple of characters. Make yourself a ground pounder, a support character, and a pilot. You can get BR12 in 2 to 3 days, with those; there are more than enough certs to take care of what you feel like playing that day. Got problems with grief from your grunt, log-out and login your support guy. Play with him for the day and you grief problem goes away.

This game is what you make of it fellas. Find yourself a good outfit (one who uses TS), make up a couple of characters, and set out to have fun. I�m yet to be bored from doing just this.

Yeah the only reason I play any FPS online forlonger than a week or two (about how long it takes for me to become good enough to absolutely own on the pubs) is being a part of a team. It's why I played T2 for months and it's why I'm still playing PS despite my computers issues with the game. The poeple I play with are what makes it worth it. Now if we can only convince Jackass, Neo, Yuyi, Avail and all the rest to come back to the dark side :evil:

Can't wait for Tribes:Vengance though. Playing in competition just seems to add so much more to the game :)

i agree with TheRagingGerbil, i found me a good group of freinds back in beta, and ive played with them ever since, even if we are not in the same outfit we used to be, we still try and stick together, theyre one of the reasons i still play this game.


and the only other FPS im gonna be playing any time soon, is Jedi knight 3, i just played the demo, and it rocks

and i played the Homeworld2 demo, everytime i positioned myself close to the mothership, my frame rates droped to lower than they do in planetside when theres a 200 person battle going on

of course its going to have some bugs, everygame does.

but if you mean it has bugs like SWG then im gonna be kicking myself on release date

and i did get into a good outfit, but i just cant play FPS for to long after a while the whole shoot and kill gets a lil boring, even with the interaction with other players in the outfit.

thats why my favorite games are MMORPGS

but i do see your point and i appreciate your input

No from everything I've seen it almost looks more like some of the dotHACK games for PS2. Then again it's sometimes hard to get a feel for a game before it's actually released or at the very least some good movies with gameplay are released.

I'd just like to hop in and say:

SWG = win

I know most of you elitist bastards ran around screaming cause of a bug or 2 in beta (*sigh*), but this game runs like a dream.

My only complaint is PvP Balance but with enough skill even a gimped sniper like me can still get 10:1 kill to death ratio's.

House Atreides (http://www.swg-ha.com) is my PA. It was the third PA established on the server and the only one of those 3 left standing. We are, without a doubt, the most feared and respected Imperial PvP PA on the server. With only 30 members we have 75% of the major cities (including Coronet) under lockdown.

We own the Wanderhome server. Hell, I was even voted the most famous/infamous player on the server ;)
