Me? 1984 by George Orwell.

The book is about life in a totalitarian regime in 1984.

"It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen..."

"From where Winston stood it was just possible to read, picked out on its white face in elegant lettering the three slogans of the party :

WAR IS PEACE

FREEDOM IS SLAVERY

IGNORANCE IS STREGNTH."

Oh, people that only read books that their teachers tell them need not apply. Exception: your teacher is l33t and you've read kickass books like The Big Sleep and Huckleberry Finn.

He also has Kazaa Lite clearly visible on his desktop.

Warez.

well besides that, Ender's Shadow. If you read Ender's Game, its basicly the same story but told from Bean instead of Ender.

I guess we are very cultured people. Let's bring out the wine and cheese for tasting. Oh, while I'm at it, let's turn on the classical music.

Ok anything by W.E.B. Griffin.. Especially the Brotherhood of War series..It all takes place in the 60s and is probably the best military series i've ever read..Even Tom Clancy himself says Griffin is the go-to guy for military novels..thats some high praise

Just went to the bookstore yesterday and blew yet another paycheck.

Harry Turtledove's "Into the Darkness" series (a great series with dozens of POV's all woven into a medieval fantasy re-creation of WW2 and the halocaust).

Robert Heinlen's "The Cat Who Walked Through Walls", "Friday" and "Tunnel In the Sky"

Steven King's "Dark Tower" series (whoa..)

Ray Bradburry's "Farenheight 451" (first book of his i've read but my friend reccomended it).

"The Restaurant at the End of the Universe", sequel to "The Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy"

ummm...

Oh yeah, and "Chapterhouse: Dune" (last one in the series) because I lost my old copy somewhere.

Most anything by David Eddings or R.A. Salvatore. Currently reading Belgarth the Sorcerer. Also a fan of Robert Jordan although I've borrowed out most of the books and I refuse to buy the new one without reading through the series again so I'm not totally lost :p

I just finished Hunter Thompsons new book Kingdom of Fear
I'm reading John Kennedy Toole's, A Confederacy of Dunces again with the intention of getting through it this time. Its a great book I just never get a chance to read so I end up deserting books and then coming back to them. I was reading Greg Palasts new edition of The Best Democracy money can buy but I feel like I already know all the info it has just from reading so much news and stuff everyday.

If you like 1984 check out Ted Ralls graphic novel 2024, its kinda an updated version with the US as a totalitarian state run by corperations. Pretty good but if you can read it at the library or bookstore, you'll finish it in an hour or less.

I don't waste my time reading useless books.

If it doesn't help me in school, get me off, or teach me new tricks.. it's not worth reading.
