View Full Version : Order in the Ranks

There is no order in PS. Commanders are barely respected, and BR and CR is the only thing to go by.
I propose a military system that increased with your BR. This would instill some loyalty among any of the RPers, and give going up a level that "Sweet! Promotion!"

Right now, outfits use this, but a guy in Outfit X can't pull the General rank on a guy in Outfit Z.

If this rank system was used in the whole empire, people might follow orders a little better. All names could have their rank abrreviated in front of them.
"That guys a Colonel, he knows what he's doing."

The ranks should go somewhat like this (please add any suggestions or changes)
1 Private
2-3 Corporal
4-6 Sergeant
7-9 Lieutenant
10-12 Captain
13-15 Major
16-18 Colonel
19 Admiral
20 General

Whaddaya think?

You suggesting 3rd party outfit demotions? What about assholes that just start demoting everyone? Just like those CR5's that spam global...

No, rank is based on BR only, and can only be changed if your level goes up.

Sorry i think i misread...Its an ok idea but i think it would just be eyecandy, because ppl probably still wouldnt follow orders.

To get respect you have to give respect, find a good comander and you will have no reason for a new rank sys (general, captin). Being a BR20 and CR5 does automaticaly make you a good commander, it just says you have no life and play PS to much (hehe j/k) what it really means is that you have the experence with the different aspects of the game. You could find a BR1 CR0 commader that could be better in commanding then that BR20 CR5 guy...(well i think i went a little off track) but anyways to sum up No i dont think a new command sys is needed.

Indeed...Ive been saying that for like 3 months now lol. I hate when BR20 CR5's try to rub theyre rank in. Just cuz they have no lives...>_<

In the military there are consequences to not following orders. So while you may think that dick you keeps telling you to do something, even though it's idiotic and pointless, is a dick you listen and do what you're told because you're in deep shit if you don't. In a game played for enjoyment you can disobey that dick, because there are no consequences. So in other words your idea wouldn't work :( BR also isn't that great of a ranking of peoples intelligence. There are just as many idiots who have made it to BR 20 as there are people who know what they're doing.

If there were 10-15 players that truley used some "military" type planning and order, they would rule any battle. It will never happen. It's the Holy Grail of online multiplayer gaming. It's fun to try for though cause when you even get it partially happening, it is truely gaming bliss.

when im solo i dont care of any orders.
i go where i want and i do whatever i want.
i dont want to go to Esamir when i want to go to Amerish....for example....
cause i like the continets like Cyssor and Amerish and dislike desert and snow.
so i gotta do what i dont want? man people will hate this game.

Labels are meaningless if you can't command the respect of those below you. So I'm in agreement with Mojo.

I believe Sporkfire said something about "titles" that would be displayed next to our names coming soon. I think with the fame and glory screens which have no real release date.

I dunno. I think it would be nice if people would listen to orders and not act like retards, but as many people have said, it won't happen. I agree with whoever said that if you can get 10 ppl working together in a true military fashion they would dominate anything and everything. Anyone remember the old Sturmgrendier(sp?) movie? If that happened each time, if they were that organized all the time, then they would be able to change the course of any battle, no matter the odds. Oh well, just my idea. If anyone has found a group that plays like this, please let me know! (Although I don't have the game since I just moved and my computer now is a piece of shit!! Right...)

SG pretty much plays like that 24/7. The stuff you heard in the movie during combat wasn't scripted or done for show. That's how it works. Sometimes it's enough to do what you say, change the course of the battle. But sometimes even proper organization won't help you.

I was in SG and it was NOT like in the video. It is a group far more organized than anything else I've been in, nevertheless they are not as organized in every day operations as they were in that video. (This message is my simple opinion and is not biased out of spite or any such thing. I left on my own terms)

I am in SG and I disagree with you.
