I'm just wondering because it seems that in the afternoons lately it has been a lot quieter. I know it may just be a perception thing but I have been playing afternoons and late at night for awhile now. Evenings still have a ton of people on but the other times its becoming a lot more scarce....at least TR on Emerald.

Add to that the fact that it seems like everyone is starting a squad and I'm having trouble even finding people to join. I'm BR20 CR4 and only need a little more to CR5 and I can't even get a squad going? It's getting bad at times.

Anyone else experience any of this??

Afternoon change is easy to explain, school is back in session for a lot of kids. Now it's just a matter of figuring out when that population is going to play, and whether they're sticking around.

there is the school thing but also, a large amount of people have cancelled their subscriptions because sony refuses to address or aknowledge their concerns and problems with a game that's still considered by most to be beta.

Well you are on Emerald so thats a good start. I know a lot of people on other servers are starting spend more time on Emerald since that's where the highest population seems to reside. So not only are the other servers losing players who leave PS altogether. They are losing more players as they migrate to Emerald.

Yeah, I shoulda thought of the school thing.....where are all those college kids who never study? :D

I must say that I am thankful to be at CR5 mainly because I'm tired of always spending my time recruiting people for squads and such. Its a hassle that I plan to leave to others now :)

A lot of people hit br20 and lost the feeling of making daily progress on their character. It's costing the game many players.

I know for a fact I play less now that I'm br20, and having little desire to get cr5, I'm not likely to pull all-day marathons.

Yes, I play for fun, but fun + making progress on your character is what pushes it over the top.

Besides, promoting someone to be a figurehead commander to buff their CR isn't what the devs intended, in my opinion. Hopefully platoons will fix that.

It does seem emptier, but it could all be the times your playing. Funny though, how the took the server population dots away after that last patch. Wonder why...

Of course this is going to get a lot worse. Main reasons:

Rainbow six 3: Athena sword - Sept 22nd
Lock on: Modern air combat - Sept 23rd
Halo - PC Sept 30th
Counter strike: Condition zero - Sept 30th
Railroad tycoon 3 - October 14th
Call of duty - October 29th
Halflife 2 - November 11th.

For me, i'll probably get LOMAC, halo, also will probably get call of duty (I hear it will rock) and railroad tycoon 3, and who won't get halflife 2, well maybe you celeron users, but the rest of us will.

it's definately losing people.

i'm not about to call mass exodus, but it is losing at least a person every week.

I doubt that most folks that have had problems with the game have had the kind of problems I've had, but I think I can safely say that if I can't get this game running right by the time my free 30 days is out, I'm way gone daddyo...

Its the bugs that killed PS for me.

Travelling through a warp gate in a Galaxy alone and blowing up on the other side for the 1 millionth time finally made me snap. Among dozens of others. :D

Well i'm getting bored. I'm only Br13 and i don't really see the point of continuing the game.

Its just more of the same. Nothing changes... There simply isn't enought ressources management. The only think to do is take bases and move on. Endlessly.

Sure its fun at first.. but after a while... whats the challenge?

If only it would be possible to destroy things. Make a base bigger, have Engs work on the base, put more turrets, make it defendable and so on. Maybe if there were other things to do besides take bases... but now.. with all the games lined up for the Fall... i'll have my hands full and planetside is probably gonna fly in the closet, in the pile of used games.

Yep, it's a boring game .. at times. That's when I grab an ANT and "try" to fill some silos .. preferably without getting blown up by a reaver, Max, missile or falling off one of the many cliffs or drop offs .. roads are for wimps. :p

On topic .. first we had summer vacation and now back to school. There was also the mass exodus to other empires for various reasons.

To each his own .. I plan to stay .. still alot of people to meet/kill and just tried infil the last couple weeks. I cuss those guys a lot, but it's not easy.

Im sure its loosing some, but it still has quite a good player base.

If the devs weren't constantly waging a war on two fronts, the bugs would disappear a lot quicker.

Every wanna-be cheater is working hard to guarantee you get the worst gaming experience possible.

It's hardly fair to blame the devs. They've created the first mmo shooter, but all they seem to get credit for is the things that go wrong.

It is kinda sad but I think there's no doubt PS is slowly and steadily losing players. All I can go by is my experience on Markov, and it just seems harder and harder to find a good fight - basically in the evenings there is one big battle somewhere and if you can get in before the continent locks, you're golden. Otherwise you can play real estate on some empty continent and hope to meet an enemy or two if you're lucky.

I certainly miss the old days of having battles all over the place.

Unfortunately this is one of the reasons I'm cancelling my subscription at the end of the month. I feel I got my money's worth, and spent many hours with the game including beta, but even the best games get old eventually ... and the lack of large battles just hastened the end for me.
