Right then,lets get down to business
First off,i have never played planetside before,so im probably going to make a complete ass of myself posting this but honestly,i dont care,i love this game sooooooo much!
Its the only thing keeping me going in life right now(i have a pishy comp so i have to wait for money to upgrade it:( )
Anyway,ive known about planetside since the beta so ive had a lot of time to dream about it and the game.
Basically what im trying to get at here is that i had alot of ideas for the game and i wish for them to be viewed,so im writing this thread.
p.s one thing u must know about me is that im a guy who likes to categorize things,so its easier to use them.
Weapons
heres my view on what type of weapons u can have
1).Pistol AMP Beamer Repeater MAG-Scatter
2).SMG Suppresor
3).Assault Rifle Punisher Pulsar Cycler Gauss
4).Shotgun Sweeper Jackhammer
5).Launchers Decimator Striker Phoenix
6).Sniper rifles Boltdriver Lancer
7).Machineguns Chaingun
8).Throwers Thumper Lasher
9).Knifes Forceblade Chainblade MAG-Cutter
10).All purpose Rocklet
Now see all those spaces?
Those are ur new weapons:),simply make them but so that there still in touch with the factions theme e.g"A Vanu shotgun?"make it so that isnt as powerful as the other two but knocks enemys back when hit(more space=more mobility)Its like an electrical concusive blow:)
how about "A Terran sniper rifle?"hmm,simple,have it so that it fires 3 bullets at a time(but each bullet is not that damaging),
that hit in a triangle(like the predator thing),increasing your chances at hitting moving enemys:)
alright,"A New-C SMG?"thats a hard one,so...how about a smg with flechettes as ammo but the smart part is when they are fired they dont burst open like a normal flechette but wait until they impact,then blowing(effective at up to medium range
also,ur gonna be wandering about my place of weapons so heres why
1).a thrower is a weapon that effectively arcs an "object"(be it grenade or orb or whatever!)at its target(lasher only slightly at above short range)and has a proximity effect(think about it grenades explode=orbs "lash out"):)
2).yes,i think lancer should be in sniper,for the reason that its an effective long distance rifle with a slow refire rate,ok
3).Rocklet should be in launcher,i agree,but it is a possible category and i didnt want to mess up the table
those are just some examples of what there could actually be,and all u have to do is select a category and add the empire theme,or what about categoriless weapons(a disc thrower would be nice:) .

Armour
To me,theres really only 4 types here
Light = standard Infiltrator
Medium = agile
Heavy = reinforced
Super = MAX
i think they should scrape the current armour system so they can have the 4 basic amour sets(certs for heavy and super)and then be able to upgrade them(such as the light + infiltrator upgrade)
which would cost cert points themselves(like one or two) but u could only have a max of 2 upgrade on a single armour (e.gu could have 4 differant upgrades for medium armour but can only have 2 on the one ur wearing)so that ur not ultimate.
and thats about it for armour.
Items
Sorry,not many ideas for items,but as the games progress's special needs will araise,especially since u can make an empire specific version out of everything e.g
The Jetpack,typically a vanu thing but a few changes to it and each empire can have one,such as...
VS = energy displacer
moderate accceleration,best handling,moderate jumper
very smooth
NC = rocket pack
slow acceleration,moderate handling,best jumper
flames can hurt enemys behind u
TR = rotary jumper
best acceleration,worst handling,worst jumper
continious use at low altitude can reach fast speeds

last but not least is my view on vehicles
Vehicles
ground vehicles fall in these 7 categorys
1).TACTICAL = AMS,ANT
2).TRANSPORT = Sunderer,Deliverer
3).ATV = Basilisk,Wraith
4).BUGGY = Thresher Marauder Enforcer Harasser,Skyguard
5).TANK = Magrider Prowler Vanguard Lightning
6).ARTILLERY =
7).TRUCK =
now,with the exception of core combats flail,router and switchblade,theres two new categorys therefor empire weapons:)
the trucks are heavy weapons packing vehicles who dont enter direct combat,the could be mlrs(multi launch rocket system)or anti-air cannons(NOT skyguard crap!)
they would have little armour but a lot of power.
artillery is obvious:)
now air vehicles are differant
1).ESCORT = Mosquito
2).GUNSHIP = Reaver
3).TRANSPORT = Galaxy
4).BOMBER = Liberator
5).FIGHTER =
other than the in development lodestar,theres not many air vehicles in the games,and a tornado type plane would be a good addittion.
now,i know theresnot any sea vehnicles yet but just for the sake of it,heres my ideas on what types there could be:)
1).CRUISER(tank/gunship version)
2).BATTLESHIP(artillery/bomber)
3).SUBMARINE(unique escort i.e it cant be seen by other than other submarines)
4).LANDER(troop transport)
5).CARRIER(vehicle transport)
