But anyways, they do need help. The NC have steamrolled the primetime and daily winner competition for the past month, and we need a fight. Capping bases left empty by the TR and VS because they are both playing on amerish gets dull.

I remember when the spawn door bug came back about a week ago and I said on broadcast "OMFG THE SPAWN DOOR BUG IS BACK"

And I swear I got atleast 4 tells, "whats a spawn door bug", plus numerous questions about it in broadcast. This shocked me.

I must be an oldie. I know the feeling don, I remember when you guys were so busy with the VS that we could take solsar or cyssor without any trouble.

Terrans do need help, yes. But it's the Vanu that have the fewest people on, at least almost always. This morning, the percentages where 39% NC, 38% TR and 23% VS. Those numbers, however, are decieving, as there were not that many people online. I would say, in total, a rough guess of the total players on Emerald was something around 500. I think most people were asleep. Nothing wrong with that. We were attacking Ishundar, and were doing fine, and we would have had it too, if a few more of our squads helped, but they didn't. They went to Amerish. The squads we did have on Ishundar were not doing too bad, until the TR had more people come online, and come to Ishundar, at which point, The VS pop on Ish was probably 30 people. I think some of us went to Amerish. At the time, I didn't know that the NC were sweeping into Amerish and we were losing the continent. So when our bases on Ish were pushed back to two, we recalled and went to Amerish. And yet, we were still getting hammered by the NC. It wasn't our lack of tactics, or their lack of tactics, or zerging, although the NC did seem to have more people than us. I think we did pretty good, before I had to go to bed. We just couldn't seem to get out of our southern tech plant. The NC just kept coming. I think I killed more than I died. I even managed to pick up a few JH's to use. Probably lost them all too. I'm not sure if I managed to store any. They kept trying to hit our tech's gen. and we kept pushing them back.

I guess my point is, that depending on the time of day, any side could use more people. VS seem to have more people at night, between 10pm and 2 am MST, and TR seem to have more people around 6pm to 10 pm Mst, and the NC seem to have more people the rest of the time.

The NC are at its strongest right now. Nobody is loyal to the loyal terran... the VS are the people who need the real help. Besides, You terrans can beat the NC to a pulp with your rapid firing machine guns.

You see, it's not that the TR are weak, it's just that we have so many CR5 dweebs that all they want to do is attack Amerish while our home continents are being run over. I've never understood the fascination with Amerish. I like Forseral better. And like someone posted before, holding your home continents is much better when the Sanctuary strikes come in, so might as well defend them now and get your practice in.

Zerging - From the Game Starcraft, by Blizzard entertainment. It means, in simple terms, to over run your opposition with overwelming(sp) numbers. To keep coming in masses, till your enemy is ground into submission and dust.


That said, we Vanu always defend Amerish first. As to why this is, I don't know. I don't mind Amerish's lack of extreme hilliness. I mean, it does have hills and mountains, but it's not folded and inclind like on some other places. I like Hossin too. Those trees are frikin cool to fly or drive under. Searhus is cool too, as long as you realize the strategy involved in taking it. Who ever owns the volcano bases, Of which there are three in a triangle, who ever owns them, and uses them, can rule Searhus. I only say can though, as someone might come up with a break strategy.

As for leaving Emerald for another server? NEVER. Emerald has the largest population of PS gamers. If you were to combine to two west servers, then maybe Emerald wouldn't be, but it is. Stay with Emerald. And practice.

Please allow me to retract part of my last post. Zerging is what losers call an organized strike. When we lose a base to the TR and it seems as if they are in large numbers...we say they zerged the base. They say the same thing when we take a base through superior numbers.

Realistically, I call it organization. Period.

When a CR5 broadcasts that the need help at a particular base...and we all show up and overrun it...that show's good leadership (and good following).

One tip...listen to the CR5's...they know what they're doing.

Well, the zerg still really refers to the zergling rush strategy in Starcraft but I actually agree with this.

Zerging has gotten a negative connotation as being a mindless swarm that just destroys things with sheer might. Thats kind of true, but if you actually watch a zerg, it's very accurate. People aren't just running around shooting anything.
The snipers get to high ground and snipe, the tanks patrol, aircraft strafe, drop bombs and do flybys, infantry gets into the complexes and supresses the defense. Hackers hack, engineers build and repair, medics heal. Everybody is doing their job and they all do it at once, without being told.
It's actually good organization.

The thing is, you CAN get the job done with a much smaller force if you use more difficult tactics using strategic locations and planning. People seem to like that more than they do the Zerg.

The point is though, weather something is killed by being hit with a buick or with a razor blade, in the end they are just as dead.

for fucks sakes the game is only like 3 months old.. ive been around even before the game came out i was already in an outift and i was in beta... ur not an oldie until at least the 1 year mark, and yes it was better the good ol days when people said "wtf is global chat?" or "wow whered u get that cool backpack?" i have lotsa memories, the lashers part in the planetside timeline was when i had a PS break but i dont understand why people have forgotten about when the MCG was the big kahoona...

I hate Amerish, just because the lattice links suck ass for NC. Its the only continent with a WG in the middle, and its NC's only wg there. Since its sandwiched between two TR wg's and the VS sanc gate, whenever the NC come through they're caught in the middle of a fight between the other 2 factions.

Nothing pisses me off more than seeing a huge fight on Amerish and the only thing I can do for a fight is roll over the 10 people defending Ceryshen, Esamir, Ishundar, Forseral, and Oshur.

I don't see why people have a problem with zerging. It's a war game, not to mention a war tactic. To over-run your opponent with sheer numbers. That's what they did way back before people even thought to count the number of days in a week, it's what we do today. Except instead of people, it's using bombs/missles/bullets. If we did it with people, there would soon be no one left on the side who attacked in mass, thanks to guerilla tactics of hiding behind things. In this game, since there is no long term consquences from dying, we do it with people, same as they did back when you either had to get close enough to use your weapon, or use your bow or crossbow. In present time, you don't have to get too close to your enemy to kill him, and to try rushing would be suicide. The same thing goes for Planetside, however, since you can be revived, rushing isn't the biggest suicide, especially when there are more people to fill your spot when you die. I swear that sometimes, some of these tower battles should have great names after them, such as "Hamburger Hill," where Americans killed more Americans than the enemy did. Our own side tends to kill each other in such Zerg tactics. But as I said, since there is no consequence, what the hell, rush them.
