Why do all you "more experienced expert players of Planetside" call all the "not so more experienced expert players of Planetside" n00bs? I don't get this. I kill someone and they tell me I'm a n00b. Seriously. Please explain this act.

Someone is just pissed you killed them before they got a chance to kill you. They think it's like cutting of their virtual penis or something.

Welcome to the world of big internet balls. Noone actually can win an online game fairly, cause any team that wins is a bunch of lagging, glitching, hacking fucktards.

Well the reason new players are called n00bs, is because they are indeed new. They slow things down with many questions that most vets think they never had to ask themselves and do things on the battlefield that seem extremely stupid but are really just mistakes that everyone has to make to get better.
Being called a n00b when you kill someone is just a manifestation of the egotistical. You kill someone, and they *think* that seniority equates to superiority. Unfortuneatly this isn't the case, we're not all equal, and some people are just plain faster at learning.
I play a not so popular mod for Half-Life called Ricochet. It's a small community, probably about 50 dedicated players, and 30-50 players playing on the 10 or 15 servers running. In such a small community, you know everyone who is better than you, and everyone who isn't. I've been playing since the day it was released with the HL patch that accompanied the CS 1.5 release. I've seen a lot of "n00bs" come into the community, and get better than me, and it's damn frustrating because you know they've not played half as much as you have and even so, they dominate. It's frustrating but I hold it in, espically since everyone knows everyone else, you flip out and everybody knows about it. I can see why people get so angry and about getting killed by the newer players, I just can't quite grasp why they have to make such a big deal out of it.

I havn't been called a newb much in PS before, but I have in other games. I've played EQ for almost 4 years and people will call me a newb if I don't use my pet for mana regen. They also think that because of my gear I'm a newb. I got to tell you though, when it comes to PvPing them...Im the masta! :sniper:

It is the attitude of these self proclaimed 1337 guys that makes noobs grow into assholes. Of course that is just what every mp game needs, more assholes.
If someone calls you a n00b after you kill them forget about it, they are just jealous and don't want to admit that you killed them fair and square so they say you killed them with no skill. If they say your a n00b after killing them what does that make them?

In PS though it's rare when two people have the same potential due to the nature of the battlefield and the different weapons and armors, as well as healthkits and implants. Therefore, it's rare when a one on one confrontation is decided on skill alone. But this also theoretically means that approximately half of all confrontations, and inarguably less than half of all kills are against an opponent who is statistically superior to you.

Yeah, that happened to me. I was called a Noob Lasher Spammer by a NC guy I killed. He had the gall to call me a Noob because he was able to kill me four times in a row with a Reaver. He said his skill was better than mine, and that I should go somewhere else. Oh, real skill. Him in the air, me on the ground with my HA weaponry. OOOOO. What a mind he had. So I took it upon me to put him in his place, and blow his reaver out of the sky with my turret, which I did. Then to blow him up when he tried that against me with his turret. then to Lash him to death a few more times. And he called me a nOOb Spammer. *LOL* I'd say he was the Noob Spammer, with his JH. Except I like using JH's. So, because I killed him on foot four times in a row, and he can't kill me without his Reaver, I'm the nOOb. I told him to find some origionality.
I love idiots, and players that can't keep up with me. I went a full hour or more running around with a JH and killing TR. They couldn't kill me on foot. It took a TR Reaver to kill me. Too bad I was focused on a TR AMS at the time, and had run out of Lancer bullets, maybe I might have survived the Reaver encounter.
Edit: OH, and Thanks to all the NC who fell under my JH. because of you, I have a Locker full of JH's now. My thanks for your inability to kill me with your JH'ers

Ha! I been playing since Beta and I got called a noob the other day.
I was alone on Amerish and trying to slow down a new wave of TR that had decided to invade. I was basically hitting them when I could when they exited the warpgate. Now some of you may scream how unfair, but hey I was alone and they had Reaver support OK.:)
They called me all sorts of names and I just blew it off. When you're by yourself and up against superior odds it's all about tactics and sometimes you got to play dirty.

I got called a noob for surging after this agile Vanu last night. He spun around and we dueled for a second or two. He ultimately killed me. Told me that if I am going to play inf, I should at least be good at it.
I know how easily you show up if you are surging, but he was heading towards our AMS so I gave chase. I told him there was like a 5% chance that he would have switched to third person to see me. Needless to say, I got put on ignore.
