So far all that ive seen is warm tropical/savannah type grasslands, but since its an actual planet, will some of the bases be in arctic and temperate zones? I also couldnt find much about weather, will the game have different 'seasons'?

Well, there are indeed diffrent land types. We know of artic, and we've heard some about rocky/grassland and even space ports *though the later appears to have changed **Again** *

Weather we know we have rain, and at one point long ago they claimed weather would affect traction of vehicles and such. Weather or not there are seasons, I dout it honestly. Thats a bit much work on their part ATM. Im hoping there will be more kinds of weather, i'd like to see snow, rain, sleet, high wind, ect.

do you think the rain will make it easier to see infiltration suits (ala the invisible man)? that would make for good gameplay, having to adapt to the weather, very inteesting.

ooh, i love desert, so im assuming that most screenshots that are released have only been taken on one continent then?

There are different land types, there are no "seasons" and weather is still up in the air - not sure on it :(

I'm sure it'll be fairly random, but I wonder if continents that are close together will share weather sometimes?

Arent different continents independant of each other? As in, not actually on the same land area. (cant fly from one to another)

Yeh, but some are reasonably close together. Norht Africa and Southern Europe have the same weather often.

True, but storm systems are relatively big, they could occur on different continents at the same time. It really wouldn't be that hard to synchronize.

It'd be pimptastic if rain would splash off of infiltrator suits or make some electricity arcs or steam, would make it harder in the rain, and would look cool. I heard that you can swim in armor and MAXes but vehicles are disabled, although some vehicles can go through shallow water, up to the wheels.

MY IDEAs :

A 'Nam Jungle area where no ground vehicles could get in, maybe a buggy but limited. Air lifts out possible on open patches. So we can fight Charlie style.

Random asteriods hitting but only on Vanu occupied areas.

Personally I think we will see weather eventually. But I dont think it will be in release.

Weather's not a big plus or minus for me either way, but it would be really sweet to launch an attack on a base in a lightning storm. :)

It's more of a novelty really. Just something to add a little difference in the attack.

Enviroments would just own.. Ughh.. Why dont they just make the game pure ownage and take longer to make it, I wouldn't care if it took until September, it would be fine with me. :evil:

Great thing about paying mothly fees is it coukd come out in later patches. I'm hoping to see weather sometime as well.

it would also be sweet if lightning hit the power grid and we had to take a base that was running on backup power (dim red lights) and we all had pussy little torches n shit.. and you could turn your light off and hide in the shadows waiting for some terran scum to walk past you and open up on em from behind

im sure given a fair bit of time you could fly across the whole world, unlesss of course you run out of fuel... but yeah... perserveranve and a whoooole lot of spare time could fly you from continent to continent

No you can't fly from continent to continent. They've got some fiction set up right now to prevent that. They have however mentioned boats in a future patch......

It'd be pretty neat if electrical storms would mess up the radar and perhaps some other equipment, a group would have to set up some kind of perimeter to weather the storm....get it, weather the storm...heh..heh.... :doh:

Will there be some way to monitor weather in differant places, like a Weather Terminal or something??

Maybe one of the base you can capture would be a Weather Station so you can predict the weather giving you a stratigic advantage?

hmm, yes, a weather channel type thingy would be great, maybe it could also be used to tell what continents are dark, and which continents are still in day time...since i think i read somewhere that even though on the world map, all the continents are bunched together, they are really spread out over the oceans and different sides of the planet, it would sure beat having to go to each continent just to find the time, or weather.
