They always reminded me of the monster's with the bee gun from Half-Life. After I played VS and saw them all the time I realized they didn't look much like that. But I do see the resemblence between these two characters.

So now we have VS max looking like Samus :p

In my opinion, the TR MAXes look a lot like Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. Also, NC maxes bear a similar resemblence to the Heavy Armors from Starsiege: Tribes.

The VS maxes were definitely made by Nintendo.

I mean, purple suit, and purple gaming system(yes I know its in 3 colors!).
