What computer are you looking at that costs enough to keep you from buying a car? You can build yourself an excellent (not bleeding edge, but enough to run PS and most other games on high settings) for 700 or 800 bucks.

Its not a car its a Motercycle......the motercycle is around 5000-6000. and the computer is around 2800.....but i can only get one.....

build it yourself. Any comp that costs 2800 is prob overpriced. Take this as an opertunity to learn more about computers. Search the web for a couple of days, www.newegg.com is a great site for finding good deals, and they won't screw you over. Trust me, you can get a great gaming computer for 800 bucks if you already have a monitor and stuff.

He could but where is that making me a moron...its just making me new at this. I'm sure when he started riding he had some guy saying " i dont want this moron on the road". Come to think of it aimhere sounds like every parent when a 16 year old gets his fisrt car in that they dont trust them and they dont want them on the road. Dude get over your ignorace and give me a chance on the road. Im taking that NY Bike saftey corse ( that 3 day saftey corse) so its not like I'm going to be reckless when i drive.

Well The computer will help me out with school, games and movies. But thoes are all things that i can do with my current computer (but i cant play PS) with my current computer. On the other side a bike is a very fun thing to drive and it would defently be a eye catcher over my Ford Escort Wagon.

WickedDeus

Raven get the bike. You can build a computer to play PS for $600-800. No need to spend $2800 on a computer. Anyway, have you played PS? Games come and go....Motorcycles last forever!

Well hell, if you're in NY and pass then you're allright (I live in NY also). And yes, I am a parent and have seen too much stupid crap in my lifetime...lost a few friends on their bikes. And since you're from NY you know the gracious use of the word "moron".

Ya i have played PS before and i love it, but when i did play it was on a computer that just managed to run it 2.6 with 256ram. To get a computer that can run it smoothly you need atleat 3.0 and 2 gigs of ram. So therefore you need atleat 2000. But ya <Aimhere> im not going to be your typical motorhead spead demon. I want to live to see my 21st birthday, i found a cheaper bike then that Honda600F4i. Now I'm going towards the Yamaha R6 which would only cost me 5000. Then i could put the rest into body armor and a good helmet. So to relive you of your worries <aimhere> Im taking the 3 day saftey corse (to learn how to drive properly and to get my license) and ill most likely never go over 65 unless I'm on the highway then ill go 70 at most.

WickedDeus
2003-09-20, 03:48 PM
Ummm....you do not need 2gigs of ram to run this game smoothly. Also 3GHz is not needed as well. What I'm saying is that the bike will be around longer then the game. The R6 is a great bike but I love Honda and the new 600 is godly.

SecondRaven
2003-09-20, 07:34 PM
Well two gigs and 3.0 is a little over kill but it would make sure that the game runs even in huge battles.

dude thats overboard considering DDR2 and Althon 64 and shit coming out i wouldnt spend that much id say 1gig ram a nice processor a Intel 875 for p4 or a nforce 2 for amd and a good solid vid card

SecondRaven
2003-09-20, 08:59 PM
True but i also have to think of the extras for the bike, Helmit (200-300) for a really good one heh i want to be safe, a good Leather Moto jacket, good leather moto pants (I'm not thilled about wearing leather pants) and boots and gloves. Im also going to get Knox body armor so if i do fall i wont get badly hurt. Oh oh and we cant forget the chassy lighting that my freind is going to put on the bike. So thats a 900 extra after the bike (just relized this but this has nothing to do with PS now) ohwell

Raven,

The minimum computer you really need is one that runs at least 1.5 to 2.0Ghz and 1Gb of memory. A Radeon 9800 would suit you just fine for his game and the next gen games coming out. If you're interested, I can build one for you. You know me and I could spec one out for you. Give the word and it's done.

Build you own computer it costs in lots of cases half that of a company build system, you can make a swwet one for 500. check or Ajump.com and zipzoomfly.com (formerly known as googlegear.com) , but do some reaserch first on tomshardware and other sites.

Ok, give me a day and I can spec one out for you for that price. Couple of questions though.

1) Are you going to use your old case or do you want a new case?
2) Keeping your old Hard drive or not?

The Opteron isn't really within common market gaming as of yet. I'd wait a while, perhaps 6 to 8 months to get an Opteron. With $1000 being the max you want to spend, it'll be easier on your budget to get something less, perhaps a 2800 or so. I haven't had time to spec your system yet 2nd, but I should be able to do it this weekend. Can you wait that long?

After our converstation before, I found this board and CPU combo. Let me know what you think of it: Linkage (http://www.partspc.com/store/product4089.html) for $298.00

Using this selection, your total price comes to about $926.00. Only $26 more than before.
