If you label yourself an RPG fan and haven't played Morrowind, you must cease to call yourself a fan from this day forward, or until you do play it. That is one of the greatest RPGs ever made, and anybody who disagrees with me is a raisen.

Morrowind gets repetitive after a while... so i disagree with you!

the giant planet and all the towns are cool. the combat and storyline suck. I still love it. I found some glass armor in the middle of no where. (dugueon basement. nearest town was a good 15 minute walk. lots of deadly creatures around. had to be something down there right?)

I love Morrowind. Basically, any game that allows me to steal everything, well, I love IT baby. I still can't get past Firemoth add-on though. Damn Skeleton king kicks my ass every time. I run around with a magical Katana that does it's normal damage, plus 3 fire, 3 ice, and 3 lightning for every hit. Till it runs out of charges. That baby was EXPENSIVE to make. Thank god I have a thieving habit. *winks*

Yeah, Morrowind gets repetetive, but I like it none the less. Have the origional Xbox version with a lvl 40ish character. Stopped playing him after I found every unique item in the world though.
Working on a new character in the PC version. Going for a completely different direction this time as a spear wielding, medium armored, holy mage. It's tough as all hell now, but he'll end up like a god later. :D
Oh, and Flammey, just because it costs alot, doesnt make it a good enchantment. Absorb health is the way to go with weapons.

That and a constant effect restore health if you're really cheap...
My char that I had before my comp fucked was a Reguard Swashbuckler. Swashes use light armor and swords. Atronach sign, great for a warrior. Terrorizes those mages...
Well
Ide :hitit: Morrowind

Xenogears, but if your gonna say PC RPGs,
Fallout 1 and 2. Much better than Morrowind, i dont care, but is there any other game you can be a Porn king, a made man in the mafia, a drug dealer, a assasin, a fluffer, a Boxing Champ, a Slaver or a Slave Free-er and a Saviour all at once? i think not. not to mention the game is HUGE! loads of Side Quests, non leaner game play, ability to be evil or good, and a combat system i enjoy so much. hell, just try the damned game, its only 10 bucks for part 1 and 2.

Planetside > Morrowind
To say that if you're an RPGer and haven't played Morrowind makes you no longer an RPGer is just ignorant talk. Anyway, this game called Planetside has a lot of RPG elements in it. I mean, you level up the same way you do in an RPG and there's great character interaction, such as:
Me: Die evil [insert empire other than Terran] Scum!
you: *die*
It's a great RPG game. Go try it now. Do it now clones, do it now.

I like the game a LOT but it gets repetetive quick.
If you really wanna be cheap with items, get a lot of money and some good stones and enchant 10 items with 10% sanctuary. Sanctuary effects stack so it gives you 100% deflection. As long as nobody is whipping magic at you, 'youre fine.
I really don't know how anybody can play this game without being a thief. I tried a fighter once and ended up spending hours trying to work up my pick lock so I could get into things. It's easier to make a thief and build up your attack.

Your damn right about repetiveness.
*Go in cave. Kill everything alive. Grab loot. Run out of room because of weight limit. Go back to town. Sell loot. COme back to cave. Grab more loot. Run out of room again. Rinse, repeat, until cave is clean of treasure.* Took me, sometimes, 2 hours to clean out a cave.

Why pathetic? As if you didn't make a female character for PS and stare at her ass for a while. Or even walk around Sanctuary, sending local tells, "Hey baby, Nice Buns. Want a nice Hotdog to put in between them?"
I have fallout 1 and 2. And yes, I played them. I also played Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Neverwinter Nights, and Ice Wind Dale 1 and 2. And Diablo 1 and 2. I prefer Diablo 2, and have so for the past few years. Ever since it came out.

Morrowind got kinda old after a while, but it was fun turning into a vampire and scaring the shit out of the pansy legions. Morrowind is pretty much grand theft auto in middle earth.;)

My hobby after a good amount of ass-kicking is to go off and wander the wilderness for a bit. Kill some shit, see the land, look for caves, etc.

Well, I loved Fallout Tactics for its squad based tactical gameplay, not for its RPG elements. Honestly, I have yet to see another game in its genre that has such an incredible variety of tactical situations.

If you really do that your pathetic.
All my characters are males and in 1st person.
When I see a female character I don't touch myself.
In a simple sentence I can describe you. You are pathetic!
And fallout is the ubar rpg ;)

Well, that doesn't describe me at all....Poo, I was hoping someone would describe me correctly...
I don't care about FO. Give my X-Com: Ufo any day. I loved using the biggest weapon in the game. Guided Missles that could wipe out half a block with one missle.

I have the first three in the X-Com series. and I got the same problem. that's why I hope they rework it for Windows Xp and start selling it again. I'll pay for a copy that can run. I loved the X-Com series. Finished all 3 too. I've not tried any of them after Apocolypse though.

I absolutely loved fallout and fallout 2 and I enjoyed fallout two albeit to a lesser extent, my main piss off about it other then the linearness was the economy (ok your a quartermaster, but i buy stuff from you, okkkkkayyy). Also if you liked fallout youl love acranum, difrent universe but same design team and an updated version of the engine, just make sure you patch it.
Two issues on fallout 2.
I've never actualy beat the game and I played it a lot but had to reinstall, well on the latest incarnation of my computer when I returned to vault 13 to turn the part in for the geck in exchange the game crashes, if this was almost any othe rplace in the game entering it whould be alright but this is one of the pivital moments in the game, needless to say after that I got a bit frustrated as my only other save game was way back chrtonologicly.
Secondly is there anyway to prevent the massacre in vault 13. I've even stayed in the vault till the cloaked dude leaves my party (trying not to spoil for anyone) and nothing happened.
Bonus question:For those who have played/beaten arcanum, is there anyone whos come up with a way to bring a semi happy resolution to the ogre island issue. It irritates me a bit i'm sposed to be a reborn religious icon (again not trying for any spoilers for those who might play) and a major player in world affairs but I cannot fix a small conspiracy wtf.

i never beat fallout 2 either, and i never knew about a massacre, but i only got as far as the oil platform, and then i couldnt get past one of the puzzles and i was screwed.

I loved that game but it gets to the point where alll you're doing is going to alien bases that take 6 hours of crawling to clear which gets really annoying. I think the first in the series was the bes because it didn't involve things like that. Apocalypse was fun too until it started droping the huge battleships left and right that took forever to get through.
As far as Fallout 2 goes no there is no way to stop the slaughter. No matter what you do the military bse will send choppers and wipe out everyone. If you got to the oil platform the village you start in has been wiped out.

OOOH that, i know about that, they live though, you free them on the oil platform, right?
Fallout....wow, I forgot all about that one.
Thanks for the reminder, now i gotta rummage thru my old CD's to find it.
