Okay, here is a situation:
Me and my squad take a MPB (Moble Point Base) truck, and drive off into some empty mountain, and make a base.
From there, we create all these things, and got us quite the little shack..
Now say we log off for the night, when we come on the next morning, will our base be gone? Not by being destroyed, but just dissapear?

I believe when you logout your AMS goes kaput.
not positive on this tho.

probably unless someone else takes it over for you when you leave.

It'd disappear after a while, if not once you log. Otherwise there'd be a lot of unnecessary clutter around the gameworld.
Yeah i'd assume it stays for a set amount of time after you log out but not forever.

After vehicles are destroyed does the destroyed vehicle stay in the world for ayn amount of time or does it just explode the disappear?

They probably sit there and smoke for a bit then disappear.

They are "dissasembled' when you log out.

will busted vehicles stay as charred hulks that can be used as cover, or do they magically go poof? Tank corpses could be useful in base assault or defense.

Well, they have to disappear for two basic reasons.
1. If they didn't there would be too many vehicles and they would eventually crowd the landscape.
2. The amount of information in tracking where those vehicles are would lag the servers.

I'd think that they'd only disappear if they're unused, because then if the player that spawned it took one out and set it up and was leading a massive attack on some base, and then needed to log off, where would the rest of his squad be? If people still use them they should stay there, dammit, I don't want to be stuck without a refueling station a mile away from an enemy base and 300 away from mine. =P

I'm sure they'll stay for a few minutes. But, if you have to log out, get someone to hold your vehicle for you so that it doesn't go away.
Yeah other peeps can take over your vehicle, if someone is using the AMS or tank or whatever it obviously won't disapear.

I wonder if you can dissasemble your vehicals at will? It would make sense if you could.

Depending on the type of vehicle. Disassembling a tank would be pretty hard.

Or even better, what about a self-destruct?

It only makes sense that vehicles not being used disappear. This game it going to be tough enough on our bandwidth constraints without having the entire PlanetSide landscape littered with the carcasses of destroyed vehicles.
As for logging out.. I would assume there is a timer before the vehicle goes poof. This would be in case you get disconnected from the game for some reason. You would still have some time to get back in and still have your vehicle waiting for you. I wouldn't expect it to be long though.

they -probably- will put a timer on, like someone said, for the degrading of tanks or AMS's...
I also dont think they'll make something 'pop' if it's being used or something is in close proximity...

Oh man, I can't remember where I read it, but I think once you leave a vehicle it will remain there for 15 minutes. If no one gets in it for 15 minutes it dissasembles.

I remember seeing the 15 min to disassemble in a screenshot. It was in the chat box.

I hope you get warnings then :\ that would suck hopping off your basilisk to take a leak in a bush and comeing back to an empty space.

Well the message said: The AMS you are binded to will deconstruct in 15 because of lack of driver.
It either said that exactly or something really close to it with the same meaning.
So you get a warning.

Now, while the AMS will autodeconstruct, if you are in an SOI any deployables will _not_. According to Rogue deployables will hang around after you log off and will still be there when you log back on unless they have been destroyed. But there will be an SOI limit on deployables, which beta will help determine.

I think that an AMS is a little different than most other deployables.
1. all other deployables can only be set up in your own SOI i thought.
2. all other deployables are items carried around and then dropped, however the AMS is a vehicle.
I don't think that rougeps was talking about the AMS when he referred to deployables.
