Quick dumb question.

Are bolt drivers supposed to affect MAXs?
I've tried shooting them a couple of times and they never seem to register any damage.

They do 50 damage to a max. I've killed maxes before with a bolt driver, takes 15 shots to kill it since they do 50 damage each and 750 divided by 50=15. On nc maxes with sheilds it is more shots to kill it when it has it's sheild on.

I just realized now that the reason it doesn't register damaged with my advanced targeting must be due to all the fracking armor they have.
I've killed MAXs before too, which is why I was so confused.

alright, what proabably happened is that the little red bar or green (for friendlies) only shows health. So when you shot the max the bar doesn't go down since your not hurting it's health, once you shot it after it's armor is gone, the bar should go down. They really need to add an armor bar, being an engineer and not knowing if someone is out of armor or not can be annoying. It's the little things that wouldn't be that hard to put in that would make this game better, don't think it would take them hours and hours of coding to just stick an armor bar by everyone's health bar.

100 health+650 armor=750 total junk you have to take down to kill the max. The 100 health makes you have to fire 15 shots instead of 13.

If you have a bolt driver and your trying to kill a Max with it then you must be out of your mind...unless you have good cover that is...

well if you have nothing else left with you, one time that's all I had, the sniper, and I was versing a pretty bad aiming max, and it took about 8 shots for me to kill him since he was already damaged. My friend once killed a lightenign with his bolt driver, had to have one hit point lef though, and there was a guy in it

But a bolt driver can go through 100 health in one shot. The infl for example, has 100 health and goes down in one shot. It would be 14 shots to kill a max if health was not a factor.

yeah, im a stealther, my char snuck up behind a sniper, started 2 unload a load of amp amo in him, and he turned around so quick and got me with his rifle. 1 shot kill.
