My desktop locked up.

I think. My bro was playing earlier so I'm guessing he hit some setting. And now if i left or right click the desktop or the shortcuts, I'll just get that "you can't do that" noise.

did you go into the control panel and see if he might have accidentally messed with some of the settings?

Display, Mouse, System, toolbar, etc. nothing out of place....unless i missed something.

Plus I pressed every button on the keyboard atleast twice and nothing happened, though i dunno if it was some sort of key combo my lil bro pressed.

He's only 6. And he never admits anything. He stole a big pack of gum i had somewhere on the shelf and said a ghost stole it, then when i left the room for a minute then ran back in i saw him trying to replace the half eaten/swallowed packs. Whats the chances he's gona know how to get outa this one?

Thats the first thing I thought, the mouse. I unplugged it and repluged it nothing happened. I wasn't the first one that found this problem, my mom did hw right after my bro got done with his....game.... But then the taskbar works perfectly, its like the shortcuts became the desktop or something, I dunno.



I hope it was a ghost, cause i bet it'll remember stuf better than my brother.:rolleyes:

Its that fall season-like backgrond, but all the shortcuts appear on the desktop too, just you cant use them. Its like they're apart of the wallpaper, just that if you click any random place it buzes(aka, "you cant do that" noise).

oh and i fixed the problem, he did click something, or did some sort of key combo. But now i can click freely without hearing that "you cant do that" noise.:)

I guess little kids always get there way I've seen it happen at my friends house but I don't have any little brothers or sisters so I don't know how it's like. They make stories up and they won't admit that the story isn't real.

Yea. my bro was always easy to figure out cause i would ask him if he did something and he would just say a flat ass no. but now he has that no like "what the hell are you talking about?" no. But i think i found a way aorund it, when i ask help me look for it, he instantly says "i didn't take it!"

Well that could be a good think to say because if he didn't take it he doesn't have to help you find it. But if you have him figured out ok sure. Don't know why he makes it so easy for you to figure it out but he is just 6.
