to those of you that have experiance with photoshop 7,

sooo, i finally got photoshop 7 and have way too much time to spend, so i thought i would learn some photoshop skills.

i wanted to ask those of you that are skilled with the program, how you got to know those skills? where did you get the tutorials you used, and how much time did it take you to get a working knowladge of the program?

also is there a diffrence between the retail version and the trial? ;)

well i learned my skills by "practice" just keep playing with it day after day... also go online and do tutorials even if you dont need em. do them anyways really helps you learn the functions of PS7. there are tons of great sites but I suggest starting HERE (http://www.thewebmachine.com) his tutorials are really easy to follow and produce some great effects...

same as above. AlsoAbsolute Cross (http://www.absolutecross.com/tutorials/photoshop/) owns for tutorials - i mean you can see how good they are by the quality of their site.

Years of experience. I started out on PhotoStyler by Aldus, it was aquired by Adobe and killed so I learned Photoshop 2.

Started out by just teaching myself then gained more experience when I was hired as a graphics artist. Doing graphic arts full time allowed me to learn the product fully.

I'm not a graphic artis anymore but I still use PS on my own time which allows me to keep up with the changes version to version.
