If you want big battles that actually seem like WW2 with aircraft vehicles and a bunch of great mods go with BF

don't bother with bf1942.

i played it for quite a while (vanilla bf and some mods, ie desert combat from version .2 to .35).

the infantry physics in BF are horrible, running is laggy, planes/tanks totally dominate.

just got really old after a while..

i'd suggest you at least try the demo before you buy (it is outdated quite a bit though), that should prob help you decide.

I only play desert combat and ive played the game for a long time... i dont like old stuff (weapons and junk) i want new or ever futuristic. Desert Combat is really fun, and besides the fact that the flying sucks, i dont like flying in the game anyway.

GET THE GAME AND DOWNLOAD THE MOD.

BF is a quality game, with amazing mods (which by the way you cna mod into the same directory of the game) like Forgotten Hope, Desert Combat and Eve of Destruction plus two cool expansion packs its a must have, I really enjoy this map and the 3 mods I have really add variety to it too

I would imagine Tanks dominate infantry in real life too...Possibly just a delusion of mine, but since when was real life supposed to be balanced?

I personnally can't stand the damn thing, it just seems like a race to the vehicles to me.

OH GOD NO! i hate bf1942. if your looking for a great ofline FPS, your looking at the wrong game. if your looking for cooperative FPS online, no way in hell, the friggin B17 always takes off without getting a gunner, and all you can think is, I HOPE THAT ME109 GUNS YOUR ASS DOWN BECAUSE YOU DIDNT GET A GUNNER! everyone races for the tanks, and dont wait for a passanger, you stand around poles. its just a bad online game, it would be a good game if it was, a death match kind of game, but, its not, instead you gotta go grab poles, but the thing is, NOONE GOES AND GETS THEM! instead they all grab scout and try to snipe, but its even harder to do that in that game than it is in Planetside.

when i played bf1942, i ran low setting to get high FPS, it's not a problem with my computer, the engine just has shitty physics for infantry.

this game isnt based on realism, it's more of an arcade type.

BTW, if you're lagging in BF, it's your own/server's fault. BTW, tanks do dominate for a reason. That's because they're supposed to. Even though one AT guy can kill tank easily enough and for planes there's flak. I guess tryinbg out classes other than sniper can be hard though
