Currently I am running on 512 MB SDRAM which I do want to upgrade. The User manual that came with the computer suggested using the type of RAM that came with the computer(SDRAM in my case). Can I upgrade to 1 GB DDRRAM and not have a problem? Does DDRRAM use a different type of slot or can i plug it into the slots that I currently have my SDRAM in?

What kind do you have if the kind you ar cyrrenly useing is PC-133 or lower then no DDR will not fit if it is DDR-266 and above then yes you can. It should say what type of ram you can use with your comp in the instructions. if you have a newer p4 with a 533 or 800 mhz FSB then it will be DDR.

DDR(DDR-xxx) and SDRAM(PC-xxx) do not use the same amount of pins.
BTW how did you get your DP sig to be smaller?

If your using SDRAM now, your prolly out of luck. Generally its all technically SDRAM but DDR SDRAM will not fit in older PC100/PC133 SDRAM slots.

With the cost involved with upgrading older SDRAM, its almost better to get a new mb, maybe chip, and DDR ram.
