View Full Version : What "technology" can do this?

Hey all, I have a question that maybe some of you more in tune with current tech trends can help me with...

I have a bit over 30 min of extremely high quality video that I need to use for a project. Basically what I need is I have a high quality plane shot of my city, and the footage is from a new's crew truck driving through my city.

Now what I basically want is on the left side of the screen to be the map and the right side to be the video, and the streets are keyyed to match points in the video. So as the video is rolling you see on the map where you are in the city, and can click a point in the city to jump to that point on the tape.

Does anyone know what technology this would be? Would this be something Flash or Macromedia could do you think?

Thanks,

Squick

That was probably me tweaking a template. You will see that now and then over the next few days

Sounds complicated, tell us how it turns out. That'd be cool to see :D

HARG!
You might actually need custom software for that.

uhh, if you have $$$ to fork out to have this done for you you could hire Mike Baker from www.cloud10.org to do it, he's a pro. or you could post on the forums there and ask for what he uses. he can do some cool shit that might be what you're looking for

I have a near unlimited budget for this, I do not expect to do it myself... But I do not even really know what type of technology to do a search for to find someone that CAN do it!

I am mainly just being the connector between my client and someone that can do this.

I will give Mike Baker a call on Weds, thanks JonnyK.

I was mainly just curious if one of you guys had ever even seen something like this done before.

The main thing is I was told not to do it myself... They need this to be perfect, so they need a pro to do it.

I am going to give all the local graphics artists a call tomorrow, perhaps they can help.

If you are a local artist in the Detroit Metro area feel free to give yourself a plug :D
