Two Questions.... One bad, one good, lets see where the brightest and the darkest viewpoints are RIGHT now.. ask this later after beta gets in full swing then again after launch.
1. What is the one thing you are most leery of/dislike/fear about the PS premis?
2. What is the NUMBER one draw of PS for you?
________
1. Since I haven't played the game (yet!) I think what I am most leery of, is the gameplay... Wait, what I mean is, I drink heavily of the PS koolaid, and the hype is fast approaching a mad creashendo, will the real thing be as good as I hope? Or is all this going to let me down? too high expectations.. that is my fear.
2. MMOFPS PvP with a vengence.. 'nuff said.

I like team play FPSes and I also like that type of game, where it's a strategy game but real people play and it does depend on certain skills and such. I'm most afraid of it could become a mass kill fest when in certain weapons or vehicles.

I fear that the flight controlls will be unlike any flight game I have ever played and any previous flight skill will be useless.
Number one draw is: skill based combat in a persitant MMOG.

I also hope the gameplay lives up to the hype but what I fear the most is pretty much the same for every game. People who whine and whine about how one thing in the game is unfair and they don't stop whining until the dev's nerf a weapon or change the game to suit the whiners who don't like dying or something that doesn't go their way all the time (ie. sniper rifle).
The thing or things actually that really pulled me in with PS was the variety of weapons, vehicles and armors that they have. It's great to have a huge array of things to use but all of them are designed to be useful in the game. Some games may have alot of weapons but some of those weapons are going to never be used because they're either to weak or just or they aren't useful enough to take up a spot in your load out.

#1. Bad netcode and low FPS
#2. Limitless, unrelenting, furious PvP.

1. I am worried about the RPG aspects of this game. The hacking and certifications make me worry that some people will focus too much on this aspect of the game, rather than fighting the battle. With the games delayed released (several times over) I worry that they may rush the game out and it will feel more like a Beta than a full copy of the game.
2. MMP- This game is set apart from other games with it's futuristic setting as a FPS in 1 massive world. IF the large world wasn't part of this game, I probably wouldn't be interested in playing because quite frankly, I believe there are and will be better straight FPS's. I haven't been this excited about a game since 6 months before T1 was released and I was scooting around the internet with my 56k and 266 MHZ PC.

1. I'm worried that the game will be laggy. If aircraft are stuttering through the air, and vehicles are teleporting around, the game will really be awful.
2. I really enjoy organized combat, including strategic planning and the tactical execution of said plan.
civilians comments reminded me of something.
i remember when i first found out about t1. i read all the sierra fluff and previews about the game, and from what i had read, i imagined a huge world with vehicles and mayhem and death. t1 turned out not to be that. it was a different, but all together wonderful, beast.
planetside is that game. (i hope? )

1. I'm leery of play tempo some. I mean, right now, I can get on one game server and everyone will be going full speed nonstop. You die suddenly and often and everyone's kill ratio sucks because of all the explosives being used. On the other side of that, I can get on different server and be in an extremely slow paced game, to the point that both sides are accusing the other of camping. :)
I'm a little worried that in a persistent world, there will be an extreme in tempo set and everyone will have to deal with superspeed whether we like it or not.
2. I love the idea that when I come back to play later, the building I helped take still belongs to us, instead of having to fight for the ground like previous battles never happened as in other shooters.

1. Nothing new to do in the end game and getting stuck in the 'Been There, Done That' cycle.
2. I like Team FPS games like TFC, RtcW, BF1942, etc, that and the vehicles. :)

Well yeah, but you get the idea. In other games, there is no chance for it to still be yours. You restart the map and all is new. This time though, we get the chance to keep something we fought for if we are good enough.

1. I fear that they may not be able to quell cheaters as well as they say.
2. The fact that there will always be something to do and almost limitless space for self-improvement.

Hamma mentioned that they were working on animations still when he played. People have taken that to mean there are no rag doll physics. (Of course, where this particular person got the idea, I've no clue, but that's where I heard it). :)

It's from the 'Game Physics' thread. You said they were ironing out animations. People ran with that for some reason and took it to mean that there were no rag doll physics since there wouldn't be the need for death animations if the physics engine handled how people fall.

So Hamma (ster)? :p How about it? Rag-doll or not? You saw people die. Heck, according to the screen shots, you actually killed a couple people. What'd it look like?

1) One style of play will be superior over others. (Snipers, Cloakers, Carpet Bombers, etc...)
2) Most of what everyone else said.

The whole "death animation" sort of tells you there isn't any rag dolling.. :(
I hope it changes though.. And if you get the chance Hamma, PLEASE ask/tell them to change it.. :)

Perhaps Hamma meant that deaths weren't completely implemented.
Sheesh, you people take things in the most literal manner possible.

I'm with SleightofHand on this one. People are too quick to latch on some tidbit of something that someone said.
Oh yeah... and if there aren't already rag doll physics in game, it's a little late to put them in, so don't ask.

1. Silly 'l33t' geeks that find little creases, loopholes, and exploits to make my gaming venture more frustrating than enjoyable.
2. The teamwork premise. I'm not much of a PvPer, unless there's a bunch of teamwork involved--this may be king of them all if things turn out....

I'm hoping it doesnt turn into tribes2, with so many ideas and so few actual realised dreams. im hopinh that there isnt an influce of CS fucktards and their "OMG I CANT BELIEVE THAT WTF BULLSHIT HES CHEATING" because in all honesty, if you dont know their cheating you really dont care right? its not until you think they *might be* that it bothers you. i hope that people realise ? (it might take a while) that there are other weapons than rocket launchers (ala MOH:AA rocketfags)
on the other hand, im looking forward to sitting in the same room as a bunch of mates, jumping out of a heavy transport while mosquitos fly over head conducting strafing runs on a heavily defended terran building, running head long into battle firing from the hip as rounds whiz past so close i could reach out and touch them, busting through a doorway in time to hear my reinforcments touch down behind us, and fighing my way inch by inch to a control room. and then defending it
