Ok, so I decided to come back to Planetside. I re-activate my account, log in, yadda yadda, then when loading sanctuary, I get an error, can't remember what it says. I haven't installed planetside since beta, so I decide I might have uninstalled something accidentally, and am going to reinstall.

I whip out my discs and start the install. Now, I'm on disk two, and I get an error that goes like this:

Component Transfer Error

Component: PlanetSide
FileGroup: PlanetSide files
File: D:\data3.cab
Error: Data error (cyclic redundancey check).

I'm really pissed....

Anyone have a solution to this problem?

Way back when it was released there was a batch of copies that had a bad CD. Thats probably waht you have.

I dunno if you can download from fileplanet and use your subscription key. Try cleaning your CD

Well, you probably should have run a full scan first, but to late for that now. If your discs are acting up, you can always snag a 7-day free trail install off of File Planet.

The d/l and then use subscription key should work. How else to people subscribe?

Hmm. I booted up the LaunchPad and it started to download all the patches from way back when, you know, the 5hr + ones. Anyways, think that'll work out? If not, I'm gonna cancel the DL now and go get the free trial thing. Does that include all the current patches? (the trial thingy)

Ok, so I go and download the filplanet trial. I get it installed...all good so far. I go to log in, yadda yadda....then when it starts up some of the screen is white and whatnot, like the skins won't load, then it crashes a few seconds after. Now, I'm pretty sure it's either my Vid card or my RAM. I have like 300something Ram (128+256). Now, what really pisses me off is that I used to be run Planetside smooth as silk before I took my break. Could it have changed so much that I now have to upgrade since my system can't handle it? If so, then screw this, I'm not paying more money for this game. Grr..I can see why I left in the first place.
